it could be your TPS is out of adjustment or needs to be replaced, i would also try some throttle body cleaner, that helped my idle problems.

I have an 85 trans am with that switch. It's for the stock stereo subwoofers. They're really small but it's for them and won't seem to work with aftermarket stereos.
