The other upside to Fast's table is it is already in typical MAP values in KPA. Now that I (at least semi) understand what the extra spark adder table/PE table do I can start there and probably work...

Why I was looking at the LT1 stuff over the stock L31. I figure my 3400ish lb would be more like the f/b bodies.

This forum seems to be the the authority on modified engines running Vortec heads, pretty much all the information I find for them routes me back to here. Most of the truck forums...

I think I found a more suitable base from someone's iron head LT1 map. Looks like a split between the stock vortec and aluminum LT1....

Ended up cutting it about 3/16 inch. Used the old pilot bushing as a guide to make it square and constantly sprayed water to keep the rest of the shaft cool. Trans flopped right in and seems happy.

So for reference i have a 26 spline input that seems to be over 7 inches measured form the transmission face.

I also realized this should likely be moved to the transmission and drivetrain...

I'm going to assume that the input shaft was interfering with the crank... From the t5 info page




On a side not how much work would it be to go from a t5 to a tko? How much does a 3rd gen t5...

I just indicated the bellhousing. I got the needle to move a total of 0 to -.007. Is this within spec, correct? Ill tear apart the trans tomorrow to put check the input bearings and swap the tail...

Would you recommend grinding down the input shaft? if it is interfering it is just by a hair... I don't know how these cranks/pilot bushings usually look taken apart.

I have a bit of a scraping...

All good suggestions, ill do my homework and post what i learn.

Checking my thought process: If it were something related to the pilot bearing it makes sense that it would be louder in the gears...

Sorry to dig this thread up, I work on the car in short stints and it's been a while. I will pull the trans next and inspect it as well as change to an s10 tail and shifter.
