Yeah I think it was packed fairly safe. Triple boxed and no movement.

Re: Trying to figure out a direction to go with cams.

This is from jones, I would like to believe that the cam itself is most likely in the box in one of those hard pack plastic containers. Have about 6 hours until I'm home from work to confirm.

So I got a message that there may be a package on the deck that looks like it could contain a camshaft.

Re: Trying to figure out a direction to go with cams.

Yeah, something like that or an 1142. I haven't decided on that yet, need to measure the heads. I think the one on hand would be a little too large however.

Re: Trying to figure out a direction to go with cams.

Target is about right, bore size is a little larger than I like... I thought they were a 4.100. Other thing is they have a small twist in them from a box sitting on top of them. I don't think it is...

I have a set of the blue felpros in the garage, May use them if they measure out right... the .039 compressed ones. I am unsure if they have the revised orifices.

It's interesting as I've always been told tighter quench is better with higher compression... but I guess the efficiency of the chamber plays a bigger role in it? I was planning on setting quench...

Re: Trying to figure out a direction to go with cams.

Just so we're clear, the cam is as follows:
231/339
.353/.348 lobe lift
110 LSA
HR73353-75348-110

And I explained how I have no rush in receiving the cam, he expects the step nose cores will...

Yeah. I felt that cam would be a little too much... or a lot too much. The small grind seems to play nicely with the engine as intended currently.

FYI he is calling the grind number 73353-75348 meaning it is closer to 292/233 than 277/231 I would think? I would assume that is the lobe it would be based on?

Re: Trying to figure out a direction to go with cams.

Kind of what I was thinking. Seems that 231-233/239-242 range is pretty popular. I have a 236/242 in a poncho 400 and it's mighty fun even with a low compression ratio.

.375/.360 lobe on a 110 LSA

Cam motion:
234/242 @.050
.350/.350 lobe lift on a 110.5 LSA with a 107 ICL
