Have you checked the primary rods recently? A rod that is REALLY bent would also kill gas mileage.

With Vortec heads, Performer intake, XE268 cam, Q-Jet 750 and I was able to get down to the 12.6s. Just recently put on a Performer RPM with a Holley 700 DP and can't wait to see what I run now.
