Re: TPIS Mini Ram intake complete Price Reduced!

What model is that miniram? Are the ports 1204 or 1205?

Also, the throttle body looks like a stock one with an air foil, so are you sure it is 58mm? TPIS modifies the stock tb from 48mm to 52mm,...

Re: Underperforming 383

I went with 112 LSA in hopes of cleaning up the rich idle (it was smelly at idle with my 110 LSA solid roller). The 112 LSA cleaned it up a little, but not completely. You're right, it doesn't fall...

Re: Underperforming 383

I installed a Mac testpipe yesterday and the difference in power is noticeable. I have yet to put it on the dyno, but the butt dyno says at least 25 to 30 hp. My friend is more optimistic at 50 hp,...

Re: Underperforming 383

The car has not been to the track with the new motor (or in almost a decade, for that matter). I do plan to make a few baseline runs this year, but want to sort some of these questions first. I...

Re: Underperforming 383

1. No, it was a Dynojet.

2. I don't know if it was locked-up, but the run was in 3rd gear and I'm unsure if the converter will lock-up outside of OD.

3a. We did not go any richer than 13 to 1...

Interesting, I have not ported the HSR. I've considered purchasing a 58mm TB, but have not as of yet.

Re: Underperforming 383

Base timing is set at 10 BTDC (with EST unplugged), the motor did not like 6 BTDC at all. The total timing is around 38 to 40 degrees (when we tuned, we added timing until power was lost due to ECM...

Re: Underperforming 383

It would hit 16:1 wide open before the custom tune. It is now 13.0:1 +/- .2 throughout the powerband (I was thinking it was closer to 13.5:1, but I verified it is actually a little richer).

I saw...

I will check the vaccuum reading.

We set the timing where the engine made maximum power. When we lost power, we re-burnt the chip with the last timing values.
