Re: Trying to figure out what I have

There is nothing wrong with the 010 block, it is a good foundation for any build. You can use it as is or upgrade it to whatever you need. Find out the combination is and make changes to suit your...

Re: Opinions for a street cam and heads 305 tpi 5 speed car

I did this years ago for the 305.
-Vortec heads
-ZZ4 cam
-SDPC intake
-Shorty headers
-Large tube runners
-1094 felpro .015 head gasket

made 257 RWHP and the car ran 13.50 at 101 MPH in the...

Re: Injectors won't fire ONLY on the first start of the day?

My assumption is your cold start injector is not working and the starting fluid is providing the fuel necessary to start the car. After the first start there is enough fuel in the intake and heads to...

Re: Ethanol vs. Straight Gas

That is what I hear but I can only tell you that all cars after 1986 were designed to resistant to 10% ethonal in the fuel, so they should be OK.

I have a 1986 vette, 1988 firebird and a 1973 lawn...

Guys, almost everything written here is incorrect information as far as power and acceleration of the car is concerned. 10% ethonal will not hurt anything except it may cause a slight 5% reduction in...

Re: Springs for XFI280 cam

Do not use the 986-16 spring, it does not have enough lift capability. The valve lift .576 and you will be under .050 clearance with a 1.75 installed height. Near or at coil bind.

Re: Fabricated stock TPI intake on an LT1?

I respectfully disagree, keep the 1997 computer and use Jet dynamic tuning software to tune it. It works well and you can scan it with HP tuners, or others.
