Anybody have there base ported by Extrude hone? Got a quote to Extrude hone the base and the Superram upper $800. Not sure flowing the upper is worth it....

Porting TPI bases

Does anybody know of a shop that stills ports TPI bases? Hi Flow Fuel Injection used to but he doesnt do it anymore.

Can't get there....

12.00@110.54 1.55 60ft. Just can't get the IROC into the 11's. I think a set of AFR 195's and porting the Superram base will do it.

Yeah I have the Edelbrock base. My heads are the Trickflow 175cc with 56cc chambers and 1.94/1.50 valves with 5 angle valve job and pocket porting. I think with a good port job on the base and...

What heads are you running? Its seems hard to find anybody thats any good that wants to port a TPI base manifold anymore.

I have 3.73 gears, 2800 stall on 16' Mickey Thompson drag radials. I assume your base manifold is also ported?

I thought I was way too slow with my 12.04@110.55 with a 1.57 60ft. But what im losing with the Superram in trap speed im making up for in 60ft getting out of the hole. 119 is an fantastic trap...

I went from AS&M to Superram and am glad i did. SuperRam is good for another 1200rpm to peak HP on my application and loses very little torque under the curve.

So I can't believe it......that rattle noise wasn't the tranny. The brand new GM performance parts ZZ 383 lost a bearing and is rod knocking. Filter is full bearing material. Shop called GM parts...

Btw, the 280xfi takes the unported Superram to peak power at 5900rpm. Most say it peaks at 5500. Guess a good cam makes a difference.

Changed order. New Gm parts ZZ 383 short block plus a Comp XFI 280 cam on a 110 lsa. Should be a good power jump from the 350.

Cam is getting ordered next week. Still might go with your suggestion of a XFI custom grind on a 224/230 between the 268 and 280 grinds.

Sorry, Its a 355 with Trickflow 175cc heads that flow 242@.500 lift and 245@.600. Springs are good to .540 lift. Cam is Comp XE 268 flat tappet 224/230 477/488. 1 3/4 Stainless works long tubes...

Wondering how much power I will get from switching from 1.5 rockers to 1.6 rockers. I'm thinking maybe 10-12 HP? They are worth about 30 thousandths more lift.

Yeah, a conversion to XFI268 with 1.6 rockers a little bowl and valve work and a bigger converter should get me there.


I realize that the roller cam puts out more everywhere than the flat tappet...

Heads flow 245 cfm @ .600. using stock ignition and tuned pcm. Going to Accel system for tuning when I do cam change. Maf to speed density change at that point. Ran 12.80@108.8 with current setup.

I just ran 12.80@108 with same cam and gears (using a Superram intake) Trickflow 175cc heads at Thompson this weekend. You should be able to get into the 12's without NOS.
