Re: Can't get engine fired

Thanks for the input. The distributor is pristine and shouldn't need replacing. The ignition is somewhat simple. Just need to keep pecking at it.

Can't get engine fired

I just completed an engine swap. The motor started briefly but now it won't start. For some reason I'm not getting spark. I put new coil and module in. I checked battery lead to dist and am getting...

Re: Debating going to a Accel Super ram...opinions?

I'm using Crower valvesprings prt# 68380X2. They are a 1.460 diameter dual spring with damper. I felt they matched very well with the cam. I also owned a set of titanium retainers and therefore made...

Re: Debating going to a Accel Super ram...opinions?

I ran the Miniram on my 383 and then on my 406. Both motors had 11:0-1 compression. What I found out through tuning, with the MR, the motor really responded well to aggressive ignition timing. Even...

Re: Debating going to a Accel Super ram...opinions?

SR 1.6
MR 1.7
The converter wasn't optimized for the MR. Trap speed was 3 mph higher.

Re: Debating going to a Accel Super ram...opinions?

I have a different opinion of the super ram. I switched to SR from my LPE large long tube runners. I was very disappointed. I even took the car to Lingenfelter for them to tune. I later increased...

Re: Anyone switch from TPI to FAST, MSD or Holley TB FI?

Did you experience any problems with your speedo, gauges etc. when switching over to FAST? The tech at FAST told me they would not work?

What are you running for total timing? I have a pretty lengthy history with this intake and based on my experience, i've found significant power by adding ignition timing up to 38 degrees total. On...

Re: HSR 383 vs 400- HP to $$ value

The cam's a solid roller with an aggressive ramp. There are theories out there about firing order swap. Its supposed to make the engine smoother and pick up hp at the top end. To be honest, I did it...

Re: HSR 383 vs 400- HP to $$ value

Re: HSR 383 vs 400- HP to $$ value

Antman - I dynoed my 383 many years back with AFR 195's, MiniRam, Comp XE 230/236. We ran 20 dyno runs and the result was 385rwhp @ 6500. The MiniRam really likes the rpm. The highest hp pull was...

Re: HELP!! Timing on my 5.7 tpi

I guess I don't understand how you're driving accessories? The crank pulley bolts to the harmonic balancer and drives accessories such as your alternator.

Re: valve lash/timing question..car is pissing me off

I would check the distributor first. Make sure you bring the #1 to tdc, check position of rotor to the #1 position on the dist. It should be pretty close. If not, reset the dist.

I would like to have that myself. If you don't get a response, google Dan White Racing. He used to make interface harnesses for these systems.

Re: EFI for 400 SBC

The EZ is a lower cost management system. If you have the bucs, a complete system is the way to go.

Re: EFI for 400 SBC

I would go with MiniRam and use EZ-EFI multi port system. The mini on my 406 made outstanding power. With the EZ system, you will need to run a conventional distributor.

This is a bolt on system. This will replace your TPI. Comes with throttle cable bracket.
Huge performance improvement from a stock or slightly modified intake.
