The two pin connector on your alt is the voltage regulator. pin 1 smaller wire is a key on and off ignition power (should see 12 volts with key on and running). It turns the regulator on and off. ...

As long as it is the same series alternator you should be fine. Sounds like it is "clocked" in the wrong position though. You can rotate the rear half to match yours by removing the perimeter...

That is the Automatic transmission connector (700R4) should have three wires in it. Light blue, tan/black, and purple.

If jiggling the wire makes it work could be bad terminal connection or bad connector on ecm. Try replacing the terminal first. Delphi #12146448. search mouser.com they have them.

Are you sure that the relay is good. Long crank could be bad relay. Soon as the engine oil pressure comes up the oil pressure switch will kick in (over ride) the relay and the engine will start. ...

Temporarily put 12 volts to the "trigger wire" and if your volts come up to round 13.5-14.5, there is something wrong with the trigger circuit.

Im not 100% on this but i think if you ground it, none of your emissions stuff will work cus it will think you are in park all the time. Not really sure how to go about that. Hopefully someone else...

The plug burns up sometimes due to dirty/old connections. Clean up the terminals best you can and plug it back in. It may or may not work. You definitely need a new connector/pigtail.

I would pull the cluster and clean the contacts. Sounds like you may have a ground issue. That would be a good place to start, and its free :)

Normally there are 2 screws holding the turn signal assembly in and one that holds the turn lever, remove them then unplug the connector at the bottom of the column and pull the turn sig assembly up...
