Re: 305 to 350 swap with TPI

I swapped my car to a 350 and the only thing that had to be changed was the oil pan. Dipstick was on different sides. The 305 exhaust manifold on the driverside will not allow you to use a older 350...

Re: Switch trouble! Help!

I was thinking that the fans on later third gen cars were controlled by the ecm as well as the switch. That would explain why the fans come on at 220 even after you changed the switch. I think the...

Re: engine starts to stumble and run rough after warm up

I had a problem like this and it ended up being a stuck EGR valve.

Re: overheating question

Vapor lock happens when the fuel is heated up to the point to where it is no longer in liquid form. I dought you are having this problem with a fuel injector car because the fuel is circulating back...

Someone posted this site. I think it is a good guide to go by in cam selection.

Re: gas tank trouble

I just replaced the tank in my 85ta. The rear end doesn't have to be removed. The two bars that connect the rear end to the frame must be removed and acourse the exhaust must be removed also. This is...

Re: 305 to 350 TPI swap and engine prep questions

You must be real conservative with the cam on a tpi. A stock tpi intake is done making horsepower by 5000rpm or less so keep this in mind when choosing a cam. If it hits a lick it is probably to...

Re: 305 tpi on 350 tbi

I would keep the 350 heads since the compression was a little higher on the late model 350. The swap shouldn't require any changes to the fuel injectors. It would run a little stronger with larger...

Re: 305 to 350 TPI swap and engine prep questions

I used the 305 heads on my 350. The 305 tpi intake bolted on the 350 with no mods. The only sensors I remember other then the ones on the intake screw into the head. Temp on one side and fan switch...

Re: 305 to 350 TPI swap and engine prep questions

I also swapped out my 305 for a 350 in my 85ta tpi. I didn't changed anything except for the oil pan. The dip stick was on the right side on the 305 and left side for the 350. The exhaust manifold on...
