Took the 78 amp alternator back and replaced it with a 94 amp one started the car and turned on the lights and the voltage meter in the car stayed around 13.7 cross your fingers that the 78 one was...

Update 14.7volts coming off the alternator big wire on the back 14.7 on the brown wire and 14.7 on the red wire the gauge looks like 14.7 also. turned on the lights backed out of the garage volts...

Update, after bring the battery home and charging it to 12.5 volts then taken it back and putting it back in drove the car home with the lights on shutoff wouldn't start click, click put the battery...

I work with electric motors I was thinking amps , I meant 12.1 volts

took amps reading on the big wire on the back of the alternator and it was 12.1

Yes I do have 12.+ volts on the brown wire on the alternator.

new battery replaced the alternator for the fifth time looks to be charging above 13.0 amps then drops below 13.0 to around 12.5 drove to work with lights on down around 12.0 amps on the way home...

I got the Y pipe that I got from Dyno Don and I was very impressed fit like a glove better that factory If you have a Elderbrock headers and need a new Y pipe this man knows his stuff. Thank Don

when the headlights are turned on the amp gauge starts to fall from around 12.5 down around 8 I replaced the battery and the alternator sill draining the battery took the alternator back thinking it...

seems like the headlights are running off the battery. when I start the car which is a 85 Camaro the amp gauge reads around 12.5 when the lights are turned on the starts to fall. and if I drive it...

sometimes when i get something in my head i can't let it go.iam thinking of putting a dual gate shifter in my 85 w/a7004 (i know dual gates were in 3 speed cars) did they make any for 4 speeds?

let me restate what i wanted to say. the car has better power now that i adjusted the lean mixing screw stop and the rich mixing screw. from a dead stop it will turn the tires.its the middle rpm...

when i put the pedel to the floor, it seems to lack power ( feels flat ) not feeling the secondarys pull in. its a 85 carb with the timing set at 4 btdc

yes that sounds like what i meant to call it ( idle speed compensator ) it not sending a code its the check engine light will come on. not every time i drive the car.

after taking the carb apart again rechecking the rich mixing screw and the lean mixing screw checked the float levelruns good has more power now. but the check engine light comes on not every time

it starts up ok the choke kicks on and off like it should. but after the motor warms up the isc (idle speed control ) kicks in and speeds up the idle. if i disconect this wire to the isc it kicks...

quadrajet was running rich,took it apart clean it and adjusted the rich mixing stop screw. now the idle is mested up turned idle screw all the way back sill at 1500-2000 rpm. help!
