BBQ sounds good I just need to know in advance when it will be.
----------
92syn,
I have a speaker box that I might be willing to sell. I really don't drive the car that much so it really is not doing me any good. It fits down in the cargo area and has black carpet on it. It comes with 2 Orion 12" subs. Let me know. I have not came up with a price yet.

Re: san antonio thirdgeners
Hi guys.
I'm in the last stages of the mechanical work for rebuild of my '90 Firebird. The car looks like I just dug it out of my back yard (and that wouldn't be too far from the truth), but I'd still like to find some F-body folks to run around with here.
Oh, while I'm at it, anyone know where a guy could get a decent 9 bolt posi unit from? One of the cones in mine crapped out, and I'm thinking the carrier's probably borked too. The best price I've found on a new one is $600. Any help would be awesome.

I just got the paypal sent off for the posi unit. It will hopefully be here next week some time. I'm chomping at the bit.
I think I'll drive the car around as is for a while, looking like I just dug it out of my back yard, to see if I can embarass some new Mustangs. After that, I'll take some polish to it and see if I can make that old beat up Maaco paint job shine again.

Re: san antonio thirdgeners
I was driving through S.A. last night about 6:30 and saw a third-gen camaro with a hood that looked a lot like a 4th-gen firebird ram-air hood. It was a dark color, maybe black. I only saw it from a distance so I can't tell you what year it was.
It was on I-10 heading east, on the east side of town just outside 410.
Anyone know this car?

May have been my car. I painted my hood and bumper black and I have the Ram Air hood. Plus I live right off I-10 just outside 410. ACtually im positive because i've never seen another one like mine around here.
Just noticed you said Camaro....there is a guy I met at the HEB off I-10 just outside 410 who had a dark camaro with the RA hood on it but it was stolen.

Re: san antonio thirdgeners
It was different enough that I thought someone might know who's it was. That would have been an interesting coincidence if it had been you. Too bad I wasn't in my Camaro, maybe who ever it was might have recognized me. Then again, if I had been in my Camaro I would have been able to make my way through traffic and get a better look (I was driving a rented van).
Anyway, I've been thinking that it would make a nice trip to take my Camaro over to S.A. one of these days where you are having a big meet...since there is no such thing as a big meet in Houston anymore. I think I can make it there on two tanks of gas.

We have a BBQ just about every month, you can check our boards to get the latest update:
http://SA3GO.proboards105.com
I saw your houston board question, you can setup your own board for free at proboards.com, it was one of the better free boards i found. Send me a message on our board if you need help, my email address is also on both boards, which i check regularly. We started out with just 3 guys meeting up at a local park and it grew from there. It just takes a few people, (or one person) with a vision and some elbow grease.
I think you saw the new guys camaro, he has a glossy black RS i think with a Ram Air hood, i saw his myspace profile, i think its his car you saw.

Brian, that shiney black ram air camaro on his myspace was stolen. He's got a silver iroc now. It would be good to see you again esc. I've been wanting to go somewhere since it's summer time. Somewhere like Corpus or South Padre. Maybe we could all have a cruise out to there and stay a night or two.

I like that idea.
Mayber even a whole weekend with a few differnt events planned like maybe...
Friday night at a drag strip
Saturday have a BBQ
Saturday Night caravan to a show and
Sunday have an Auto-X.
It's Just a thought, but I'm having fun just thinking about it.

That sounds good to me. It would have to be on my weekend off though. My work gives people the weekends off by rotation. Friday night would be fine because if I open I get out by 4pm. Although I don't think i'd run my car...v6...not worth it. Saturday BBQ and Sunday AutoX sounds good to me. How about trying to push a Texas Gathering? I'll run it by my guys here and see what they think.

For those of you who dont know yet or havent heard.
We are having a large meet in Katy Texas on December 15
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/sout...-memorial.html
Austionthirdgen.org and Texas Fbody.org has been contacted so they know about it as well.
Big Texas meetings are a little rare and we hope that this will be one to remember. We hope to bring a full force of Fbodies out there to Katy to show them we are serious over here in this part of Texas.
We might be interested in meeting up with the other clubs along the way to show an awesome cruise over there. We had a 26 car cruise here in San Antonio down I-35 that turned heads like you wouldnt believe. Watching 26 tail lights lined up and light up at night right behind each other is a truly amazing sight to see.
We need to do this Texas style!

Re: san antonio thirdgeners
I wouldn't mind meeting up with some local 3rd gen owners... My car isn't really anything special at the moment, but i've recently regained interest in it.
I'll hopefully be building up a 350 i have to replace the worn out 305 tbi currently in there.
So if anyone is interested in meeting up some time, i'm currently living right off Bandera near Huebner.

Re: san antonio thirdgeners
It's red, had a black hood till my ex wrecked it, and found a white hood at pick-n-pull to replace it. Has some beautiful oxidation on roof and tail end =)
Edit: you may have heard it.. I had to rig the exhaust temporarily so that it dumps in front of rear passenger tire... really obnoxious =P
Also, i just remembered i have pics in the vBGarage from before the wreck and new tires.

Re: san antonio thirdgeners
Did you see that sweet red vert for sale right off bandera near reindeer trail a couple weeks back? I wanted so badly >_<
The car looks decent in the pictures, but i assure you it's far from perfect. I still love driving/working on it though =) If all goes as planned, i should have the money to start restoring it in the next month or so. Pretty excited about that, but not really sure where i want to start!
Needs a new front clip after the ex wrecked it, so that will probably first in line. I had to rig the hood latch mechanism to bring it forward with longer bolts and washer stacks. Not the best fix, but it works well until i can get that front clip off and pull the metal back out.
Also, the apartments i live in are pretty **** about working on your cars in their parking lot, so i've been having to bring it to my friend's house to work on it. At least he knows what he's doing. =P

The maroon IROC with the black rag top? I saw it on a flatbed tow truck yesterday or the day before at the Valero on Bandera and Huebner. I guess someone bought it...
My red IROC apparently was in a wreck before, and they hood pinned the hood because they could not get it to latch. I replaced the hood and still the latch was way off. I ended up having to elongated the slots on the hinges where the hood bolts to to get the hood to move forward.
My roommate had the same problem with the apartments, but the thieves were really bad.
