Weekends are tough for me since im hitting the books hard for PAC and working on my off days, i usually work full time on Saturdays. What day and time is the meet? Sundays i go mountain bike riding (yes the bike fits in the back) but if its going to be raining i will go to the meet instead. I have a set of A-arms i want to have boxed and i have a set of spindles that i want drilled so i can finish putting the LS1 brakes on. You guys have time slips or do you autocross or something? I used to autocross, thats why i spend so much time upgrading the suspension.
Thanks camero boricua for the info and yea i'll most likely stop by this saturday. since i finished with the motor and tranny know its time for me to do the cozmetics to it. By the way lucid soory dude i dont autocross im into school work and my cars and pumping iron which I start back up this monday to start my regime. But if you get a chance hit me up see what we can get started

Happy Birthday man! Dont worry dude my car has all the creaks of a grannies rocking chair and i wish i had more money to spend getting all the pretty shiny parts. I stopped dating this chick and the chick after her so i have money to finally spend on my ride. I've been procrastinating putting on a new hood and i need to get a replacement passenger fender for it. I have a set of A-arms in my trunk that i need to get boxed and some spindles that i need tapped so i can put my LS1 brakes on. Theres more stuff to do than time to do it in. My drivers side window just gave up the ghost so that takes priority, since it means no drive-thru lol
BTW Toogood, what time is the meet on Saturday? maybe i can get out early or something. What do you mean by tuning, a tune-up or you want to change the programming of the PROM?

Tonight i pulled the door panel off and there is 12 volts going across the terminals, i guess my window motor died. I will probably drill the rivets and try to put the motor in tomorrow morning. I saw on their boards they cut the meeting short because of the rain.
I dont know if i am going bike riding tomorrow, its going to be slippery and my buddy has to jet to austin. Let me know if you want to meet up and kick it. Is your GTA a TPI?

I hear you dude, thats why i ripped out everything and installed an adjustable relay that has a probe that goes into the radiator. I bought a dual fan from ramchargers thats like 2500 CFM, a Modine aluminum radiator (lifetime warranty) and it works awesome. It was a lot of fabrication work though, the wiring, the cutting of the built in shroud to fit in the tiny hole, but it was worth it. If i had the prom tuning stuff i would have gone that route. With the dink single fan i never could get it to cool the engine properly, especially with the A/C on. Try some Water Wetter, i put in a little and it seems to help some. I am going to get that ALDL cable and eventually i want to get into PROM burning soon. That Hypertech chip can ruin your engine, make sure you read up on PROM's before you buy an aftermarket one, Moates.net has a lot of chip stuff that you can take a look at. One of the chip gurus, i think Vader or Grumpy talked about the differences on here, do a search and you will see for almost the same price you pay for an aftermarket chip, you can buy the stuff to do it yourself. The fan on temp is a "switch" that you can program yourself to come on at any temp you like, same with the converter clutch i believe. Theres a dude in that Fbody club i think in town, or in a small town that has the setup already.
Today i was driving on I 10 and all this smoke came inside the car, and i looked in the rear view mirror and all this black smoke came billowing out like a disaster. I pulled over and popped the hood in a parkling lot, and the engine was covered in fluid. Then the fire started. I shut the hood and grabbed some water bottles in the back, and dumped them on the exhaust manifold, and luckily it smothered. Then i let it cool, and restarted and this tiny pin hole leak from the tranny cooler lines was shooting tranny fluid right on the alternator pulley, which sprayed it all over the engine bay. I had it towed by Alanis Towing on a flatbed for $65, they are pretty cool. I'm going to degrease it and put some tranny fluid in and cross my fingers.
Let me know when you have some free time, and we will try to work something out. BTW i on my member page i have my website link, on my page i have a couple pics about the fan modification if you want to have a gander at it.

I am working Wednesday night 4pm until 10pm... It sucks working everytime there is a meet! I degreased the engine a couple times, and the exhaust manifolds and etc. It leaked out like almost all the tranny fluid, the engine seems ok, no white smoke coming out the tailpipe. One thing i can say about Chevy engines is they are tough! What kind of mods have you done to your engine?

keep checking the boards at the site to see where they will meet next, I dont think they meet on wed's usually but most of the time they meet at I-10 & Wurzbach across from heb and on fri. at biffs and sat. where ever they come up with on the boards. So keep checking so you guys dont just show up and they arent there. I probably cant make it on fri. but maybe I can see u guys sat.

You must have gotten there too late. The cops kicked everyone out at about 9:45pm, almost everyone(F-Bodys) went to the Home Depot on De Zavala, I was the only thirdgen. Everyone else hauled in different directions. Camaroboricua was there though, good to meet you man.

Hey Anthony
I looked up a code 34 in my Chevrolte Fuel Injection book, it says that its a low airflow related to the MAF sensor, so the ECM thinks that more air should be coming in when it looks at the other sensor readings. This could be a false code generated when your TPS is misadjusted or when the IAC is sticking or faulty, or maybe a huge vacuum leak. So thats where you should start, first by adjusting the TPS sensor and then probably if that doesnt work, taking off the throttle body and pulling out the IAC motor to check for a broken pintle or if its totally gummed up. Sometimes TPS sensors do get a flat spot on them, so its best to check with a voltmeter or ohm meter to see a smooth curve going from idle to full throttle. I will get with my buddy and find out when we are going bike riding on sunday, maybe we can meet up and hook up my scanner to your car and get a reading on what the ECM is seeing.

One of the Moderators told me there is a big meet in Houston for thirdgeners called the 2006 Fall Brawl on Saturday November 18th. I don't know a whole lot about it, but it sounds like it should be a blast!

I'm also free on sunday and am up for doing something. As far as this houston thing goes, we'll see...I went in for an oil change today and apparently i'm leaking oil from 3 different places(rear main seal, valve covers, and somewhere else) and coolant somewhere near the waterpump...I have no tools and im broke(for now) so when i'll be able to fix those, I have no idea.

I am probably leaking oil too, drop in about a quart a week, dont really know where its going. No smoke coming out the tail pipes. The one that is pretty important is that leaking coolant, since a pressure loss in the system could cause it to overheat. Look underneath the water pump and see if you see a drip drip drip like a faucet dripping right near the center of the water pump, it will do it even when the car is off, which would be the weep hole. If its leaking there it needs a new pump, if its leaking elsewhere maybe a hose. PM me your phone# or toogood and we will try to organize something tomorrow. I cant committ to a time yet since i know im going to go bike riding tomorrow, but not sure when. Have you guys heard of O.P. Schnabel park? Its on Bandera rd close to 1604...That gives me an idea, maybe we could meet up there sometimes, its a big park, has bike trails, outdoor patio areas and this big outdoor basketball court.
Toogood
I finally bought that ALDL cable for my laptop, i been meaning to do it for awhile, but been dragging my feet, should be in next week soon. Let me know how the TPS and IAC thing went, heres a link to adjusting..

I think I know where it's at, I thought I saw some comming from one of the hoses. I also know my radiator is cracked, but as long as it's not filled all the way, it won't leak out. I'll be calling Anthony soon to see what's goin on.

Sounds good to me. Tuesday at 3pm. Anthony, my girlfriend doesn't work today at Cracker Barrell and I don't get out of work till 8pm. Tell your bro happy birthday. I checked next weeks schedual and I have Sunday and Friday off so if you guys want to do something then, that'd be cool. We'll take it somewhere more populated, maybe if someone sees our cars out there they'll stop by and join us.

Haha, I got home and my girlfriend smelled it in my breath, she wasn't mad but was disappointed cause I ended up not even going to see her at her work. I figured I wasn't hungry, and i'd only be able to see her all of 2 minutes and it was a 15-20min drive out of the way. I invited 3 other people but I doubt they'll come since it's such short notice. See you guys tommorow.
