Re: Knight Rider-Mythbusters

Just watched, caught it just before the first test. It made it in there no problem. Did he hit the passenger sideview mirror when he was going 55?? It looked like he did on his way inside the trailor. I wanted to see a TA also.

Re: Knight Rider-Mythbusters

Yeah it looked like he clipped it a bit, but when they drove out again it was all still there, so we know that it works driving in and driving out of a semi on a highway So now someone just has to build a F.L.A.G. Semi replica and then we can start testing on our own

Did you notice in the special effects department's model, they used a 2nd gen. Trans Am? Just thought that was funny, then they go off in the other direction and use a 3rd gen. Camaro.

Re: Knight Rider-Mythbusters

it was awesome! all they would have to do is toss it in neutral and once it hit it, slap it in second or first. you know our stick cars can do 55 in second

its all about ratios and rpm

could probably get by with an auto trans but still cant be very godo for it to slam all the way back into first so suddenly

imagine if you tried to back the caroff th ramp with an auto trans, what would the trans do, could it get into final gear that fast without super high revving the engine or breaking something in the tranny ?

i guess if you rolled off the ramp in neutral and then put it in drive it would be ok

maybe

think about it.

Re: Knight Rider-Mythbusters

lol its not going to slam into 1st. does your car slam into 1st when you hit the brakes real hard? any difference in speed between the engine and transmission will be taken care of by the torque converter. even when u come to a stop in an automatic, u cant feel it downshift to first until 5mph or below.

and another thing, there is only ONE reverse gear, what are you talking about with "final gear"?
