Finally Got Me A 3rd Gen !!!
Hello guys, been lurking here for a long time. I had a 1982 Pace car Z28 back in high school, but regrettably sold it for a family car when I had kids ; ; One good thing is at least my ex didn't get it in the divorce back then ^^. I just got the message from the shippers and this camaro will be at my home on Jan 10 from Oregon ! It is a 1986 5 speed black IROC with 4 wheel discs. I cannot wait !

Looks like a really nice IROC! I bought my IROC from Oregon too about 2 years ago! No snow..Therefore no rust and the interiors stay in great shape because its a relatively cool climate!! I too had a Z28 in high school...feels great to be a third gen owner again after all those years! Enjoy!

Re: Finally Got Me A 3rd Gen !!!
Well got my car finally ! Took the shippers forever to get it to me. I will post some pix of the celebrated arrival . I have already purchased a set of tan leather 4th gen seats. I WAS gonna go black with yellow.. but the gold has just grown on me.. and the tan leather goes with the black/gold theme very well. I never had a 5 speed 3rd gen before... I am kinda impressed with it lol. I already dusted a newer model charger in a slolum type run mwahahaha. I ordered the door hinge repair kit, and wonderbar to stiffen the front end a bit before I set to fixing the cracked dash pad. What I really like is the driveability of this car. I usually have to completely "go through" and rebuild a vehicle from the ground up before I am satisfied with it, but this one will differ. I foresee minimal investment (comparatively) in order to bring this one up to modern standards. I have $30k in my 73 Bronco, and it isn't even inspectable yet , nor have I started on the interior. One item i am finding difficult to locate is an OEM CD deck for this car. I prefer to use a step down from the OEM deck (to the amps) instead of the goofy looking aftermarket kit that sticks out from the panel. I will post some pictures soon.

Hey that is a good idea! Did the plug-in work with the factory harness? Did it bolt right up? I am by no means scared to modify, but I like to know what's up before getting involved.

Car: SOLD!!!!!
Re: Finally Got Me A 3rd Gen !!!
i got an adaptor harness that plugged in for the front speaker wires and power wires. i used a speaker level to rca adaptor for the rears which i run an amp and 6X9's. i had to make my own brackets out of thin sheet metal from lowes. and i had to trim the vents behind the head unit a tiny bit. covered them in a/c duct tape. i like the features of it. all together it took three hours to install with amp.

I have always loved the black and gold scheme. I guess that is why I own a black and gold 86 IROC lol. Sweet car i wish mine was a clutch instead of the auto though. Oh well it will me converted in time.

Uh oh.. another 3rd gen owner & owner of an original Bronco relatively nearby. I'm just a little West of you in Conroe. Both of mine are complete beaters that need some serious re-constructive surgery time & have been on extended vacations (or comas) lately. Post a pic of your Bronco, you can see a mine over on the left.
