Bowling Green
Anyone planning on going up to Bowling Green in September for the F-body invasion?
My friend and I are planning on going. Will probably be in his car. I do not think mine will be painted and ready. Although I am getting close to being ready for paint!

grngryoutmyway - hey man I met you at the gathering this year, I was the guy checking out the polishing job on your wheels if you remember. Go to corvettemuseum.com and click the camaro/firebird invasion link. There is alot more to do than at the gathering. It is definitely a do not miss event and it is growing each year.
I'll be taking the '90 and '91 Z with me. We have a group coming through Chattanooga if you want to hook up with us but it will be early.... I mean eeaaarlyyyyy that Fri. morning.
There was quite a few nice third gens there last year, but even more would be nice!!

Wow.. there is alot more stuff to do than I expected. Is the people choice car show the only actual show taking place? I assume thats the big event. My and my dad went up to BG the summer before last and toured the vette museum and the plant and had a blast. Maybee I can talk him into coming along and forking out hotel fees

If I can get off of work I will but we are working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. I'll do my best, and if the wife will let me.
Do any of your friends in Chattanooga have some kind of decal on their back window, Underground Concepts, or something to that effect.

Well, looks like I'm now scheduled for a business trip and will not be able to go
One of these times I hope to make it! Each year it seems to be one thing or another
Oh well, guess I'll have wait till next year, and in the mean time just keep doing local Shows and Cruise in's here in ATL

I'll be there since it is only 70 miles away. The road trips are a must!!!! I remmeber several years going on one and we hit 90 several times. It does get stressfull triing to keep up with those LS1s with my L98. I got a video of it from inside the car that I show people that don't believe me how wild that road trip was. I do believe they have toned them down a little the last couple of years through. I did the corvette 50 years thing last year and they never even went over the speed limit.

I hear ya about the road trips. We have 2-3 road trips a year here in the ACFA. Each one is anywhere from 6 hours to FLA (Southern TA Regionals Show-STARS), 9 hours to Dayton, OH to the TA Nationals an of course Bowling Green.
As a club it is our policy to keep the speed reasonable. On the trip I just came off to the TA Nats we kept it around +5 over the speed limit at the most.
If your in a group of cars going well over the posted limit you have a good chance of someone doing a 911 and reporting the group...not to mention its dangerous. I understand what your saying....I don't like it either....it can be tough on the older cars.
Case in point, check out the below video link about a group enroute to a car event.
