ckeene502,

You know where I am. I was thinking about the same thing.

The nearest Camaro club is the Decatur F-body association. Their website doesn't seem to be very active though. Looks like a lot of 4th geners.

I noticed the super Chevy Show is going to be at Huntsville Dragway Spring 2006.

Post info if you know of cruise or car show activity in the area.

Boo.

1bad406,
Nice video....outstanding ET. What was your MPH and 60ft time on that pass? Would've been nice to see another car in the other lane gettin' spanked! I love to see a 3rd gen go sub 7s in the 1/8th.....makes me want to get to work.
I kinda lost interest in the races since my car isn't running. I'll start getting back up there to get inspired.

ckeene502,
Looks like there's a few North Alabama 3rd geners are out there.

I just came across the post. I'm in Arab, AL. 30 miles south of huntsville. I think I remember someone in Elkmont is doing a BBC build. Wouldn't mind seeing that beast when it is done! (is that you, Ckeene?)

Oh it was red, bright red! I hate the full tree, but thats what everyone uses mostly on test and tune, so I just practice with is. Pro tree is my game.

I'm glad to see it too. Kinda sucks it's turning winter right now. I was surprised at how many 3rd gen enthusiasts are out there that don't know how to turn on a computer.
Maybe sometime after the holidays when everyone is not so busy.

ckeene502,

Speaking of networking, that '91 wouldn't happen to have a decent set or armrests you would consider selling would it? My car has nice interior pieces but the armrests are coming apart.

Hey WIDOW, I second the welcome!!

We're all goin' to have to get together this spring.....I hate cold weather.

they are grey and black...two different colors. i have a set of greys out of my wifes camaro. they are in decent shape but are lifting on the top, i recken they could be reglued or stapled. you can have them since they not in "great shape". i do have to find them though. if yours are trashed these are great. i will take a pic when i find them(give me a day).

1bad406,
Wish my paint looked as good as your "old look"!! I have that not-so-rare option for 1989 "peeling" factory paint job and am looking for someone to paint it. Who are you going to get to paint yours?

ckeene502,
My e-mail is booboosean@hotmail.com if you get a chance at the armrest photos.......no rush, I know everyone's busy this time of year.

Merry Christmas,

Boo

My brother is going to help me paint it. It looks good in that picture from a distance. The clear coat is about gone on the back side of the car, the front fender is chipping off, and it has a few dings. one where I hit the finder with a head, and i ripped the front end off backing it off the trailor at the first of the year, so I just fixed it and flat blacked it so it wouldnt stick out so bad.

That's cool doing it yourself......should turn out good....looks like a pretty straight body.

Can any of you guys in North Alabama recommend a good body shop that won't cost a fortune? I'm looking for a good base-clear and it doesn't have to be "show quality". I've found most body shops don't want to mess with a car unless there's an insurance claim they can make a bunch of money on.

Thanks,
Boo

I am here in very Northeast Mississippi, about 30 miles west of muscle shoals. I am going to be using the winter to try and get some bugs worked out of my car. Maybe this spring we will head up to huntsville for a grudge night special!

ckeene502, Summit card kicks. I got $300.00 to put toward a new hood. Think I'm going to order one from Champion Fiberglass Products out of Ohio. I've heard good things about them. Any of y'all used their stuff?

my wife gave birth to my first born child; girl 7.2 lbs.
12/30/05 was when she was born.

i have been so busy with the new years and all....i still have to ship out a steering box to a guy on here i sold to.

booboosean i am going to check on those arm rests any day now!!!

i also bought a 96 caprice classic and have been messing with it a little.

i have seen the champion hoods at a world of wheels in chatanooga at the first of the year. they looked great and where finished in white.

Congratulations ckeene502!!!

Sounds like you've got your hands full, and believe me, that little girl will become your number one priority.........that's the way it should be. That's why my project is taking so long, but it's worth it. My boy is 3 now and he loves to hang out with me in the garage and work on the car.

It's great that a few people have jumped on this board from the North Alabama area. I hope we're all able to meet sometime this spring.

Later,
Boo.

Hopefully this isn't straying off topic too far but there is now a chassis dynamometer (dyno) closer to us in the northern half of the state. (closest one has been in Trussville). This one is in Cullman. It is NOT a Mustang Dyno even though it is at a new place that just set up shop in November called "Alabama Mustang", and they do run mustangs on it. It's even on a trailer. I hope to have pictures with phone number on my personal webpage soon so it will show up in search engines. I'm not affiliated with these guys, but did have a good chat with the owner whose name was Chad I believe. He said: "We don't discriminate, we'll run anything on it" (meaning GM cars too). I can't wait, I wasn't fancying running mine down the I-65 gauntlet to Trussville with just turndowns on the L/T headers. I want to get a read on it before I build the exhaust.

I just now ran across this post myself. I am in Tuscaloosa, and know a few other people here as well....with thirdgens. Trying to get a regional started here in T'town. I may come to Huntsville this summer to race, especially once I get my engine done. Right now I just picked it up from being painted....last week. My dad lives on Lake Guntersville, I mean the lake is in his backyard, so visit him during the summer as well.
