well I'm gald to be here, there needs to be a KY board lol JK the majority of the cool thirdgens in KY are in louisville and lexington, the rest of them are rotting in trailer parks, nothing against trailer parks but you know what I mean.... poor things.. I bought my 91 z28 from a drunk mexican (nothing gainst mexicans either) for 700 bucks, thats the only benefit to living in KY, the right person will give you a sweet car for a small wad of cash.... shhhh its a secret

Yeah, Ky is not too bad a place to live.

I see you are runnning a 383 with vortec heads. Do you have any track times yet?

I have been trying to get a ky thirdgen car club going for the lexington & South east region. Over at ky F-bodies most are 4th gens.

no track times yet, its in the painting stage at the moment, I built this car from scratch, all SPOHN suspension, and I'm making it a TransMaro, I'll get pics here in a couple weeks after the paint (bright platinum metallic) is done. But I have driven it out on the back roads, and the thing is wicked, and its got 11:1 compression. I really reccomend the vortec heads, I don't think you want anymore on the street, and my engine is borderline street lol. I just wish I had the money when I built the engine to put a TPI back on it but as far as carbs go, DEMON is about the best around, holley sucks compared to them. If you do get a car club going count me in, I need to be in one, and we need to get rid of the ******* the is polluting our society lol oh yeah how big is london?

11:1 on pump gas with iron heads? Thats cutting it close. lol.

London is a good size town. Not a big as Richmond, but its not too bad. It is right on I-75 so traveling is ok. The town is growing by leaps and bounds. I do the Addressing for 911 here in Laurel County, so I get a birdseye view of how many people move into the county.

Here is a site that me and a few guys are trying to get together. It had been down for awhile and we need new members.

The main thing we would like to have some get togethers. To talk, work on cars or swap parts. We are kinda small right now.

Oh yeah, not trying to be dumb, but were exactly is Eminence?

eminence is the highest point between louisville and lexington, its in henry county, one of the poorest counties in ky. Henry county is like a little KY, on the west side its flat, on the east side its big hills because of the river. 12 miles north of shelbyville off I 64. It runs pretty good off pump gas to my surprise, due in large to the long duration cam, I was gonna go with 244*@.050 just to play it safe but that would put the powerband in the 2 million RPM range and thats not good for a long stroke engine, and the timing took a little tuning too....long story

I kinda figured the cam helped bleed off some pressure.

Yeah, I know the general area. I would guess that you are between 2-3 hours away from London. It take about 3 hours to get to louisville.

yeah take mountain pkwy to 64 then to shelbyville and you are there, are you off the pkwy or 75? Yeah it bleeds off some pressure down low until the engine speed catches up with it at about 3000, at about 3500 I heard a little pinging but I got a lot of it tuned out, some octane boost won't hurt, better than deep frying a piston or 2 or 8 lol

Yeah, I-75 runs right through Laurel County. I live just 3 miles out of the city limits. Im about 6 miles off I-75. Also the Daniel Boone Parkway now named Hal Rogers Parkway runs close to my house also.

I need to do a head/came swap sometime. Right now I have a Th350 trans I need to rebuild and install. Im getting rid of the 700r4 so I can race at the local track. The Th350 will be stronger and the gears will be closer.

We have London Dragway which is a 1/8th mile track, but on T&T night you can run 1/4.

when is TnT? and how long is the shutdown, 300 feet? lol jk the city of eminence was going to let an IHRA sanctioned strip be built outside of town, but they backed out fearing that more drugs would be introduced into the area.......if they only knew that this little town is like a little columbia lol

eastern Ky is a wonderful place to live, but everywhere you go there is some wacko doin some bad stuff, but that kind of road most always leads to either jail or death, hopefully death just to get rid of them lol

Have you got any pics of your car? Did you build your 383 yourself or have it built?

Yeah, I have seen pics of it on the board. Good looking car. I hope to build a AFR headed 383 this spring backed by a TH350 trans. I think I will build both myself.

Call Carvers in Clarksville, they used to specialize in f-bodys before they switched to hondas. They may have some stuff still around.

I went to carvers, they don't have anything left but stuff like taillight lenses and such, I was dissapointed cause you used to get stuff like 5 sp conversions from him, henry county is between louisville and lexington, biggest metropolis in the county is eminence which has a pop. of 2300 and they are either drunks or crackheads, its a pretty funny town

you sent me a PM? Uh Oh..........I disabled my notification thing.... I prolly got like 800 ............ok so summer time lets all go to the track? I'm not expecting to beat you guys I just have never raced a car at a track ever, never had the chance cause all the 1/4 miles are 2 hours away from me, but hey, I got a car that deserves some track time especially since I spent a year and a half building the thing, I'm hoping for high 12s, then I will be satisfied, *** I hope it does it, if It doesn't I'm selling it
