Depends on what you need done:

General mechanical work: TopGearMotorsports
Chip burning/tuning: Performance EFI (formerly AZTPI)
Do it yourself tool and lift rental: DIY Performance (opens officially on 12/11). Shop will also have mechanics on duty if you don't want to do your own work.


Depending on what you need done, you might also find people willing to help out by posting on here asking for help.

Thanks beater79ta, the diy is how I got myself in trbl the first place ha ha I am a single mom but luv trying to work on my 92 anniversary edition v8 rs, I will have to have it towed frm my house bcse it won't stay running- It did b4 I tried to chnge out a spark plug wire! And I can't get the fan to work- there is no white smoke or milky looking oil- someone said I had blown head gasket
So...I would luv someone to come chk it but I have been burned by "mobile mechanix"
if u know of a shop or someone- let me know

I know the the guys at all three of the shops I mentioned pretty well. If you were on the west side of the valley I could recommend some friends that might be able to fix it in the home garages.

Sean at TopGear can definitely do everything you might need done but I know his shop is normally very busy so you might have to wait a while to get it worked on.

The guys at Performance EFI / AZTPI have been working on 3rd gens since they were new cars but are expensive and not the fastest shop in the world either.

DIY Performance will have 2 full time mechanics to work on cars in addition to renting lifts to the true DIY market so you could take it there once they officially open on 12/11. That shop is being opened by 2 of my friends who are good at what they do and smart enough to know they need to hire professional mechanics to do the wrenching.

All three of these shops are located in Mesa / Tempe. TopGear is north near the 202. DIY is on Main Street just west of downtown Mesa. Performance EFI/AZTPI is just west of the 101 on University.

if you want some honest help hit up Chris in mesa, birdtojag, hes pretty busy most of the time BUT he has helped me out countless times lol and chris if you happen to come across this i swear your panels are going in the mail ASAP! You know how hectic it is trying to get to the post office and all lol

Hey, I know it's been a while since you posted but I just saw this. I've used AZ TPI in Tempe a few times for fuel system stuff, for everything else I go to XMS Motorsports at 1775 E University DR Tempe, they're behind the MCDonald's on the SW corner of McClintock and University. 480-517-4969, apparently their website is under-going redesign but http://xmsengineering.com/. The guys over there, Randy and Jan, are super awesome. Their specialty is Corvettes but they work on anything performance, muscle, or exotic. (they also rent out their dyno). I actually found out about them on a thread just like this that was posted here a long while back.
Tell them the girl with the purple 92 RS sent you, they'll know me. I had some crazy issues with my car when I first bought it and they've been stellar.
