Hello guys! Im new to the page as in posting and actually talking to people, but i have used this site to do some research aswell for my own car! I was wondering who all would be interested in a car meet sometime. I would love to meet some of you and take a look at your rides! All this being said, i'm probably the youngest owner and enthusiast of Third Gens. I turn 17 in August, and right now work a part time job at Fry's Food to support and pay for things on my Trans Am. With my age i think the first few times i try to get meets together my dad will come along to see who all attends and to see how feels about all of you guys! My Dad has owned these cars in the past before i was born 1968 Lemans (2) 1971 Lemans 1979 Trans Am 6.6 1984 Trans am. Let me know what your guys thoughts are on a meet! Plan for that weekend is to be at AutoClub Speedway in Fontana racing at the NMCA event. Hotchkis is sponsoring the autox portion so we're going to go and see how the car does. The weekend before we're racing it at Pomona and then the weekend after we hit San Diego for the Del Mar GoodGuys show with it. 3 weekends, 3 races in SoCal. If the car survives then we'll see what is next in town.

Okay, even a small meet of 10 cars could be cool as well. i live in mesa right next to Fiesta Mall, which is pretty dead so we could always set up a meet in one of there lots.

see, this is the thing i was waiting for. just a 3rd gen meet in phoenix. yea the cruise was cool and i got to see a couple of you. and now as soon as my car dies 86T/A comes along. couldn't you have gotten on here like a month ago!?

lol jk. as soon as my insurance comes through ill probably get another 3rd gen. they're still insanely cheap on CL. so if this meet is after I get my replacement bird I'll join in.

I see, well we need to see how many people we be up for this, and then we can try and make a middle marker for a Third Gen meet. If any of you guys know more people with third gens bring them here.

Convenient central location would probably end up being a restaurant off of either Central Ave or somewhere near the Biltmore. Kind of depends on what you want to do at this meet up. If it's just sit around and talk about 3rd gens, easiest might be to meet at someone's house.

Westgate is 45 miles for me as well.. Gilbert is an hour and 5 minutes for me to go to that Far East just trying to find a neutral meeting place since no one knows where they like to go except for right next to their house lol

So i did some searching with maps and the general middle meeting with average of 20-35 mins drive for Tempe. More relatively Tempe Town Lake. There are a few lots by the bridges that might be good to use. The only bad part is going to be the noise with being by the freeway. But honestly it makes the drive even for everyone if not most people. Let me know your thoughts.

Not to sure at this time. Right now im just trying to get something started as for a 3rd gen club. I would like to see how many people stick around. Maybe a cruise in the future or do something with AZFBA and there events.

Well not to be a d**k..... but how many of the 3rd gen's can really make the drive to tempe town lake?...Just a question is all.... and just for me... i'm not a fan of the AZFBA...that's just my deal....besides to many 4th and 5th gens over there....

And how close is tempe town lake lake for you '86 T/A?

I'm not to big of a fan of AZFBA either and its a 20 some odd minute drive for me, Westgate is a little far for me. I'm also a 16 yr old trying to organize this by myself and with some help. So im welcome too all suggestions.

I don't even know where or what the "west gate" is lol
I could even do something like Cass Grande that's only about 2 hours so that's not to horribly far for me.
as far as making the drive, I drove mine from Sierra Vista to Lake Havasu In January and she made it with no issues our third gens are alot better then people give them credit for!

That's very true and the credit they don't get... that's a fact!!! And i've seen your car at the pavs for the all gen camaro meet..... and i know my hawk will make it anywhere also... however i only have 21k orig miles on the car...

Ohh yeah I've gone once in November I don't go often cause well its 3 ½ hours from my house. Yeah did the Lake Havasu run with the Arizona All Gens club. But yeah these cars run great for long or short distances I would drive mine anywhere with complete confidence!!

I don't mind driving to Tempe Town Lake or Westgate, I only care about finding enough parking space for all of us.
If I may suggest South Mountain Park... I could only dream of a bunch of 3rd gens overlooking the city. Picture that!

Tempe town lake and south mountain are all places i will be able to make (only 25 miles instead of 40)

and in other news, i think i found the car i wanted. only problem is the insurance company still hasn't told me how much im getting yet. >_>

I would love to join up, but the vert isn't done with new engine yet, the GTA is having a battery connection issue, and the t-top is a long way to go project. All that and moving. Let me know about future meet-ups and I can possibly get a few more people.

Preferably in the morning since I'm sure most of us have families, the park is open from 5am to 7pm. The earlier the better, it won't be as hot.

Hey whats up guys, new to the page. I'm Anthony, 1990 Iroc Z G92 owner. one of the founding members of Az Muscle Car Club. We would totally be down to link up with you guys for a South Mountain take over. The majority of us are F bodies, but we do have 3 Zetas, (5th gens).

As one of the founding members of AZFBA, I'm a little offended by this. There are almost no 5th gens in AZFBA. Almost all of them belong to AZAllGens.

As for past conduct of AZFBA, there was definitely a time when it was very unfriendly to anyone not driving a LS1 4th gen. Those days are over as those members have all left. So try one of the cruises some time. I'll post them up when they get planned.
