Still in the area in the NW Valley. Still own 3 thirdgens, a 2nd gen, a 1st gen, a 4th gen, a 5th gen, 2 C3 vettes and some other toys. Don't spend much time at local car shows or events any more. Busy traveling the country and racing. Hit 14 states last year with the GTA doing track events including racing at Daytona, being on display inside Summit Racing, being on display at SEMA and racing in Optima's Ultimate Streetcar Invitational.

Nice, Tom! Glad to see you are still around, but with you and your Wife's background with Fbodies, I'm not surprised! Post up some pictures of your thirdgens; last I remember, they are all awesome! This covid 19 thing has got me a little stir crazy. Any pics of your GTA at the Optima event? Would love to see them!

Nice! I definitely have to see it, now! Are any of the car shows back up and running again? It will be a while before any of my thirdgens are up and running again, but seeing your cars will likely give me inspiration. It was your RS that made me realize that single outlet exhaust can be just as cool, and sound as good, or better than dual exit exhaust.

Re: 2020 ROLL CALL, ARIZONA
No idea if any of the car shows are up and running. We rarely go to any of them. Not much shows up at the local shows to compare with most of the cars we run against on a regular basis around the country. And just showing the car kind of pales to ripping it around the track at places like Daytona and Road America.

Hello to everyone!
Tucson guy here. I joined years ago but never posted anything. With all this down time I have started to work on my 87 GTA (auto). It got parked about 8 years ago but now its time to get it up and running. I might be needing some of your help! Thanks in advance.

Hello 3rd Geners
I just join the site today and I live in Goodyear.
I have a 86 Iroc-Z that I brought brand new back in June 1986 in San Jose, CA from Courtesy Chevrolet (Stevens Creek Chevrolet now).
Currently the car has been sitting in my garage for a long time and I really should get back on it to get it running again to drive. I have a 355 balance and blueprinted installed and the original 305 on the engine stand. When I first moved down from the Bay Area, the car sat out in the AZ sun for 10yrs and was daily driven, however since I moved to Goodyear in 2003, the car sits in one of the bays of my 3 car garage waiting for me to start playing and working on it again.
Gale Banks 3" exhaust installed and many other items

Hello hkiroc and welcome,
A GREAT place to hangout on Saturday late afternoons / early evenings is at 67th Ave. & W. Bell Rd. (S/W corner)
in a large parking lot behind the 'Mixteca' Mexican Restaurant. The average number of cars is always around 300,
with many times of 400.
This time of year, cars start rolling in around 3 - 4 pm. Look for my White '83 Camaro Z-28.
Also be sure to check out the www.RoddinAndRacinTV.com newspaper. Towards the back of the paper, is a section called
UPCOMING EVENTS. This will let you know what's going on around the Valley.
I'm the Photographer for the paper, so I know it's full of great info. Besides, if you pickup a printed copy.... it's FREE !
See you there,

I as well am keen on the MR cars, I am the original owner of 84-0022. A little over a year ago I finished the refurb of my baby. I upped the HP & driveline but nothing like what you are/have done.
Mecham Racing MSE #84-0022 - still the original paint & rims that came on the car. This is just how the car looked when I picked it up at Mecham Pontiac, Glendale, AZ.
@ GoodGuys Fall 2019
Didn't care for the stock seats that had dry-rotted from the AZ sun. Swapped in some 4th gen's, much nicer fit for me. Now I just need to find a decent set of black seat belts!
Only thing original is the MR 350 4 bolt block, which has been modified as well. Holley Sniper EFI, Hyperspark distributor & spark box were real plug & play. And this fits under the stock hood (had a little under hood bracing mods to gain some extra clearance)

I've been a member here for 14 years but haven't been active for quite awhile. I'm finally at the point where I want to finish my '91 that I've been working on for who knows how long. I think the last time I drive it was in '05. Some wiring, plumbing, and tuning and she'll be ready. I'm in Litchfield Park.

Appreciate the comment, haven't had it out to to many outings. Heath set me up with the replacement MR decals, that really helped complete the update.

More pics of the brown mechum for the love of God.
I just lurk mostly now. The TGO is still better than the 4th gen scene. And AZ always had good car scenes. We had almost 20 pullied AZ GTPs some hitting 100+ totally nuts out down Main Street apache Blvd in 2003. I fully endorse and support fun controlled exhibitions of speed. I haven't owned a thirdgen in years. I got a 93 TA soon to be getting an engine transplant to become superclass. Yes I sign autographs
Seriously someone set up a cruise for the fall. October November we can meet up with the las Vegas guys.

Re: 2020 ROLL CALL, ARIZONA
FROM DESERT RENEGADES = "The other item to discuss is a TENTATIVE concept of a Western Regional all Pontiac event this coming September 23-26 in Williams Arizona. POCI membership would be required to attend and Desert Renegades would be asked to co host with the Tucson Chapter. That being said, we would need a group to help plan and execute most likely the Car show parking event on that Saturday. I am asking those interested in attending and helping to respond back to me by email so Thom Sherwood, Mary and I can gauge our level of interest. Obviously COVID status would impact this as well."

I’m Mike, Snowflake AZ.
87 Z28 sport coupe. Had the car since 2006. Original 305 lost oil pump, car gave no indication. Drove until it seized. Replaced with 327 SBC, TH350 tranny, and just this week put new rims and tires. Just waiting on my local shop for space to go in to be painted. I’m chomping at the bit! Also dying for some local (AZ) events since I have her running!

Same name, same car … slow 91 formula. Original 305/5spd hardtop car. With all this downtime, got me currently working on a “budget friendly” LS swap 😂. Sorry of the pics are not centered, it wouldn’t let me flip em.
