Trans Am problem solved :D
Finally figured out the problem with the TA. Turns out it was a faulty MAF. I put the Wells hi-flo one I had sitting around and the car is back to new. No problems whatsoever coming home in stop and go traffic in this heat. I guess the other one was getting heatsoaked or just plain acting up when it got warm but not enough to throw a code. Car runs nice and strong now. Still a tad on the rich side but that can be dealt with later. Feels good to have the TA back in 100% working order

Thanks guys Fastest thirdgen in Cypress, huh, yea that would be pretty fun
Sounds sweet Don. The car is for sure running a little on the rich side. It is taking well to the Well's MAF though. Idle has smoothed out some and it is a much smoother acceleration now. I am just glad I had that MAF laying around since that would of been a costly replacement. With a little tuning and a new rear tranny mount I think the TA is ready for some track action to get some base lines for it

Awesome you found out the problem Nigel.. Sweet.. Always remember a Maf can be bad with no code so you can always have a mechanic test the maf to see where it's at..
Fastest cars well.. We pretty much know who is going to be the fastest and pretty much is all the way around.. So what's really going to be good is..
To see Allen's combo
Nigel's combo
Kevin's combo
Randy's
Rusty's combo N/A of course..
And last Vincent with some slicks and a better trans?
My combo well im kinda worried..

Awesome Nigel Congrats! :lala: Hey could you shoot me the part number for the Wells MAF? When I try to get one through Auto Zone they never seem to find it Also if you ever wanted to make the trek out to Fontana I have all the computer stuff to scan your setup and I have the TunerCat stuff for an 89 since we had to buy it for Rusty's car - in fact we could use both yours and his to come up with a chip for you.

CaliforniaSpeedway would be cool if every one is not ready for the 18th..

That sounds awesome Randy. I need to go out your way anyways to drop some money off to Rusty. The Well's part number is SU-145. Try looking in the classifieds here, that's where I got mine. I paid I believe $80 for it brand new off a fellow board member. New I think they run $160-180. One thing to note is it is slightly oval in shape, enough so that my stock 45* angle wouldn't fit on it. But with any custom intake setup it doesn't matter. These MAFs are supposed to be better flowing and more reliable than the hotwire design. I don't know if that's true or not but my car seems to like it Also I don't believe Autozone carries this MAF. I think you have to get it off a company called World's Discount 1-800-288-6728.

This season I just couldn't afford the potential downtime that comes with racing, contrary to "other" persons conspiracy theory or ill-conceived motivations. Between education and work I didn't have the time I previously had. The money I didn't use to repair the car will go towards improving it for next season where I'll less commitments and less pressure from racing my only running vehicle...that is, if I'm still here in SoCal. If I want to beat a race car I'll have to beat fire with even more fire.
