Smog Check Question.
Just a quick question about 3rd gens and smog check. I recently had my car smogged for the first time (transfer of title). Well, I tripped out when the prompt asked for a two speed idle test instead of the 15/25 dyno test. The previous owner then told me that he always did two speed idle test. This was my first time smogging a 3rd gen and I was just wondering if everybody who owns one does the two speed idle? The car is pretty modified but it did pass.

Re: Smog Check Question.
When I did my smog test they also did the 15/25 test. And also the gas cab test but I never notice that they done a two speed test on mine car.

Re: Smog Check Question.
I'm not sure, but I think the 2 speed idle test is done in the parts of the state that doesn't require the enhanced smog test or whatever they call it. Every place in So Cal requires it to go on the dyno and test at 15 & 25 mph under load. The central coast North of Santa Barbara only does the idle test. Same with some of the Sierra Nevada foothills areas. Some of the Sierra areas and extreme North part of the state like Eureka & Crescent City don't require smog tests.
