5.0 IROC Z lsx swap

just another lsx swap that ill be finishing up. should be completed within time
1989 irocz tgo member 5.0 IROC Z

this set up is ganna be similar to mine but a bit more aggressive than my stock set up *hard top *lsx *t56 *4th gen dash and even ac keeping the modern 4th gen accessories & no bulky 3rd gen compressor here. ( even though its ganna cost him a nice penny for the a/c set up like mine )

Engine is off a 02 SS with approx. 50k miles
complete pull out with all accessories in place ready to be mated to a t56
* his car is originally a auto

the harness will be modified and extended to fit inside under the 4th gen dash. were installing the 02 camaro ebony dashboard and center console in place a fully functional 4th gen cluster. the hvac system will be exactly like mine and z28fast1s fully functional heater and air conditioning. the k member will be notched for the ac.
fuel tank wil be a 4th gen plastic unit, feed and evap lines

well be looking for small parts along the way

you can send me a pm if your really interested. hes the first ill be charging. hes been collecting all the parts that he needs making it a lot easier for me. ive been recording all my labor that ive completed though i have and estimates on just the a/c which wil be worked on once the car is running. i have one more swap lined up for december. the black and red z28 in the background. a bit more basic build. which is getting a lm7 or ls1, small cam, 4l60e hes thinking of keeping stock 3rd gen dash but hes not sure if he wants to buy what is needed to get stock gauges working.

engine is chilling and ready to mount. a transmission is needed. clutch, t56 bell housing and i have a set of 4th gen pedals.
harness and exhaust will be left for last.

were thinking of taking out the old dash and getting started on mounting the 4th gen dash. center console and modifying the a/c ducts on top.

ive been working on my car also possibly getting it ready new paint after some issues i encountered on the freeway.

once we get rolling and the engine is in i will make sure to add new pics.
and possibly his old set up and cluster + dash will be up for sale. a so cal classified section will be up by then . lol

well the y pipe i have is a temporary set up i drove the car to the muffler shop and just wanted to get it running.. bit embarrassed to say its a 2.25" piping by flange collector to an ugly looking y pipe to a 3" i pipe then to the mufflers on the back .. restricted IMO. ?

once i have the time and money im thinking of doing x pipe out to each mufflers that i have in the back. z28fast1 has a nice y pipe set up done by the guy that CMS deals with

hahaha look like we are in the same boat i have a shitty y-pipe too, i just order my new muffler and i want to redo that stupid piping i hate how my car sounds right now i was in a rush and need the car running too and went to some low quality place not cool at all. I hope by the end of this week i can have my new set up and take a sound clip of it.

By the way do you know where i can get the flange gasket?

Re: just started another lsx swap

since everyone is talking about ls1swaps and interested in researching lsX specs and info. this is what ive been up to when im not at school working or working on my car which needs some work as well! i guess ill post some progress pics of efrens lsx build.

harness was bought off of tgo member pocket. quality stuff!! looks really good.
ls7 clutch kit off the typical deals on the ls1tech sponsor sales along with the bell housing.
aluminum radiator and all the nice 6an fittings for the fuel are awaiting.
t56 tranny and shifter was recently purchased.

the only things i need as of now are t5 pedals a lot better than the t56 pedals.
t56 torque arm mount that goes in the back .
clutch master cylinder assembly with reservoir.

everything is going to be assembled in one piece. the day its ready to go i will be pulling out the stock tpi. as of now i am parting out a 01 ws6 which will supply me with much of the wiring that is necessary for this project to be done right and look right. pin for the cluster gauges, headlight switch, h vac controllers, evap, and most importantly the fuel pump wiring.

hope to get this car running for l.a. invasion. im sure his stock differential will not last because i know hes going to be excited to drive this car with the new motor. hes stepping up to some real power

How much for the SLP runners and how much for the dash pad? And that engine looks bad *** can't wait to see it when it's done.

Man that car looks clean. I love the white paint and black wheels. It will be just about perfect with that LSx in there.

Yup can't wait to test fit the engine. lots of work ahead but guarantee that this one is going to come out cleaner than mine

And or course test drive it although that stock differential is probably not ganna hold

I have work I also have my car to work on and another ls to hc ls swap on a 4th gen.
