Dyno Day anyone? Sat Nov 19th

I'm hoping there will be another dyno day coming up. My car is due for smog in a couple months. Still haven't given it a full on tune since Don dropped it in.

Preferably the first week of November.

I sure hope your car is ready by November. The air SHOULD start getting pretty good by then.

Allan if you're that close to being ready then let us know when you'll be done and we'll plan a dyno day for shortly after that.

You had a list of upgrades. Did you work any off the list?

lol Not yet. After irwindale last night and the previous dyno day I need to get my TV cable issuse fixed. I'll make an effort for that before this dyno day, and talk to my buddy in making that air lid.

Yep, the TV cable and the cold air intake and you should be set for some more power. Heck, you might even pass Vincent and doing it with an automatic transmission to boot.

Ok I set up Saturday November 19th with Mark at MD Automotive in Westminster. I'll post more, and on socaltpi.org tonight.

We might have John from Chevy High Performance magazine joining us too.

Okay, I am down for a dozen. That should do it unless there is a large turnout. If so then I can adjust the donut count.

Awesome, my first dyno. I'm there.

Don, maybe you can bring the notes with all my motor specs, so I don't have to keep telling people "Well, the valve cover says Chevy on it" whenever they ask about the new motor.

I'm with you there, I've swapped and looked over so many different cams for my engine, every time anyone asks me what Cam I have, I feel like telling them "it's a 3/4 race cam"

Re: Dyno Day anyone? Sat Nov 19th

Sorry for the delay, here is the info:

MD Automotive
7281 Westminster Blvd
Westminster, CA 92683
714-891-1113

We'll start on Saturday November 19th at or around 9:30am.

1. Kevin (91Z28)
2. Don (90TA)
3. Allen (89GTA)
4. Steve (84TA)
5. Andy (89IROC)
6. Tony (91Z28)
7. Rich (85Camaro)
8. Troy (88Corvette)
9. Peter (92Camaro)

The above list is *not* the running order. We'll decide the running order that morning depending on readiness and if people need to leave early.

Dyno cost is $75 cash payable to Mark. All the above people have bought custom tunes from me so no extra cost there.

Please check your cars for fluid leaks, set the initial timing, check for burned spark plug wires, etc, now so we have fewer issues that day.

A RACECAR HUH...

Maybe when it's all done, but for now it needs a March Performance Alternator/Power Steering Bracket, I have a Tuff Stuff Alternator but still need the Power Steering Pump.

Just Awaiting the chip from TPIS...

Weather appears to be good. We shall see. Don and I will not be dynoing tomorrow as our cars are not quite ready. I don't know about the rest but I assume after the dyno we will meet at Norms restaurant as usual.

Nothing spectacular but some people got some new #'s.

We dynoed 6 cars so it was a full day.

One that stands out was an '92RS with a ZZ4 tune port 5 spd.
that recorded 290/400 with a motor out of the crate, but with my headers and a 3"
cat back.

I think everyone had a good time.
Allen and Kevin I didn't get ours ready.

I had an issue with the fuel/air mixture but by the time Don and Kevin were done working their magic with the tuning I was more than a little surprised by almost 400 (396.7 IIRC) ft/lbs of torque.

A big thanks to Don, Kevin, Troy (I don't think I left anyone out, but if I did, my apologies) and everybody else for their work.

It's all good the computer wasn't hurt, it was just Kevin's laptop that died. (crashed)
We checked it out on Troy's car when we got back, it works ok.

I'll be glad to help you anyway I can.
