Code 42 problem solved!

Car: 89 IROC
Engine: Built 383, Vortech SC
Transmission: Pro-Built 700R4
Axle/Gears: Dana 44, True Trac, 3.54
Code 42 problem solved!
Seems like I finally fixed my code 42. After replacing the ignition module and checking all the wires for loose connections with no results I checked into the ecm. Chiltons said that a "faulty ecm could also be the culprit. Dwaynes car is out of action for awhile so he loaned me his computer for awhile. After many, many starts and restarts I am happy to say it did not set the code. I went and bought a new ecm today. It works great. No code 42. I still hold my breath and knock on wood before firing it up though. I'll keep you posted. Jeff K. P.S. Many thanks to Dwayne!!!!!

Yep! I finally got tired of my car running like s@#t. So I went over to autozone and bought a new one (only $78.99) and the light went away.

Not many of you know but that donor sticker on your license goes for car parts as well.
ECM's for $78.99 killer deal. I thought they were way more expensive.
