Weld in SFC cost??
I am experiencing sticker shock right now. I went to a local frame and axle place to find out how much it costs to weld in my SFCs. They told me $350.00 !
Is it really that much? How much did you guys pay? Is this more complicated than remove carpet, sand the spot you're welding, fit them up and weld?
I am not used to labor cost 3x the part price. What's the deal?
Thanks,
Jason

rates are very diffrent in diffrent places in the county, i paid $180 to get mine welded. some people have paid less than $100 some people have paid $200+ just call around and keep calling until you find a competent shop, with a proper lift, that will do it for the best price.
also, steve spohn seems to know quite a few shops around the country with experiance installing his stuff, you might try to e-mail him, and see if he can recomend a shop in your area.

$300 is just ridiculous.....
$350 is the point where i would stare at them and say "Are you serious?".......Then sit in amazement as they try to justify their GREAT work, and if you get it done for $150 then you run the risk of the welds breaking.......
Me being 18 years old and attempting to customize a car it's hard for anyone to take you seriously when it comes to estimates.......I once had someone tell me that to replace the stock tires it would cost me $875 + $25 per wheel for mount and balance, keep it mind stock 16inch tires......I stared at them and just walked out, didn't even say anything to them.....Will never go back.....

check some muffler shops, etc. Some of the privately owned ones will do "side/light welding" jobs on weekends or such. May take them longer because they will prioratize the muffler/exhust work up front.
