rear drum to disc brake

Car: 1985 Trans Am
Engine: Chevrolet 355
Transmission: Borg Warner W.C. manual cog
Axle/Gears: B W 9-bolt 3.45 Limited Slip
rear drum to disc brake
Does anyone know if the rear axle housings for drum (85)and discs (89) are the same so if one wanted to change to discs its a simple swap and would it be best to change proportioning valves?

I put in a new 4 wheel disk 1LE
valve, however, my part # wont work for you because mine is a 90.
