how much slick will fit??
Without modifying the wheel wheels how much slick fits? I have an 89 camaro and need to buy slicks but want to do it once. Please give me examples of what you are running for tire on the back end and if your offset on wheels is different than the stock 4 inches how much are you running? I have a good deal brewing on a set of 30X 10's and hope they will fit. Thanks in advance for all your help!!!

30X10s sound to big. I have 28x11.50s hoosier slicks that fit but the wheel has only 3-4 inch of back space. the hoosiers that i have are huge and barely fit the wheel well. (o yeah the wheel is a 15x10) I also have a set of 325x50r15s bfg drag radials they are 27" tall with a tread width of 11.5. I hope this helps some. also i see people run all the way to 5.5 back space in order to tuck the wheel.

I have MT 29.5 x 10.5 mounted on 10" rims with 5.5" backspace and needed to do some fender modifications to get them in.
A safe size is 28 x 9 with possibly 28 x 10 mounted on a 10" rim with 5.5" backspacing. Once you get taller than 28", you start running into clearance issues.
I'm not even going to get into DOT or metric sizes.
What gear ratio are you running? What rpm do you currently shift at? Getting too tall of a tire without needing it can slow you down.
