Self lowered rear
I took Matt's(MW66NOVA)advice from the GAFBA Spring Shootout and cut my rear coil springs to lower my car in the back rather than buying lowering springs.
I had to cut off 3 coils from my "cargo" coil springs to get the final desired height...but turned out good. LOOKS KILLER. Used a dremel tool with a cutting wheel...worked GREAT!!!!
I also changed out my adjustable panhard bar from one that had a spherical-rod end to an adjustable SPOHN with bushings @ both ends. Should be a WHOLE lot better @ the track...the other made a TON of noise @ the track when I would load the suspension @ the line and also when I launched. Might be because I have lift-bars, too...so I am sure the new bar will be MUCH better.
I was wondering if I may need to put a "travel-limiting" type strap on the rear eand and connect it to the frame ( kinda like they do on lifted trucks so if the truck comes off the ground the susp. doesn't fully extend and pop out the spings). I only ask this because I have lift bars and the springs are considerable shorter now. I didn't even have to remove the shocks to put the springs in....as a matter of fact...I had to jack it up about 3 or four times before the spring bushing got close to the body-hump it rests in.....anyone ever have to "limit the travel on there susp?(rear in particular)
Pics to come soon....
