where to get torque arm mount - GM dealer a no go

Okay so i have a tremec tko-600 5 speed but it works with a factory torque arm.

Got the bracket from a manual transmission but the bushings or as they call them the insulators are totally destroyed

went to order new bushings but apparently there are different kind, the ones i got from the GM system i think were listed as 82-90 (see bottom of picture) but apparently there is another part number for 87-92 manual transmission.

So have that figured out, okay ill order a bushing for a 92 then, oh sorry the outer bushing is discontinued and they have none in stock, so i cant get that bushing here in canada. Pic is attached, the lower two are the inner and outer of what i bought that dont fit, the upper two are the destroyed bushings that i cant find the right ones to replace!

where can i get new bushings?!

Ever consider a poly bushing? Jegs has em, and maybe they will ship to Canada. Make sure you get the correct one, with the lip facing the right way.

ya got hooopefully the right energy mount coming tmw

they had one for lips in and out, i got the one for lips out which is how it is on my torque arm.

But they also had a seperate part number for 82-83, is there any chance this mount could be off an 82-83 car?

Nope. Not a chance. I had that mount. The energy suspension is a 1 piece mount. Good luck getting it on there. I had to get everything lined up on the car and then spear the bushing with the torque arm and LOTS of lube. Wasn't a fun job. Glad I'll never need to do it again.

I feel your pain, I ran into similar problems when doing a TH350 swap one time, got me so frusturated I just busted out the drill and made the damn bracket fit. There are three different types of clamshell brackets and the documentation out there is very shady. Even the drawings that came with the bushings I got showed a different style bushing (lol!). Best bet is to physically take the old bushing with you to buy the new one, or take lots of pictures and E-mail them if you're going to order online. Hope it works out!

Re: where to get torque arm mount - GM dealer a no go

oh i definitly took the bracket with me to the GM dealership, still with their pictures and htinking i had it ordered the wrong piece in.

it is rediculous, i love how GM just randomly changes stuff mid production, someone still has to explain to me why half the torque arm brackets the lips face one way and on the rest they face the other like give me a break.

anyways i ended up getting a poly mount (wanted rubber cause ive had some vibration issues but oh well) from energy suspension and the mount only cost 20 bucks. So now i just gotta install it today, gonna be a pita cause its a 1 piece that slides over the tq arm, but at least itll be done
