question about vette rim fitment

i just bought a 91 blue z 28 vert. i am liking the zr1 rims or the c6 rims idea. i know i will have to replace the rear end or ad spacers. i am looking into replacing the rear end with a 4th gen one cause i would like to have the read disc set up.my question is do i have to run spacers up front like i have read or is there an alternate front end set up i can use so i dont have a spacer. i just dont like the idea

Re: question about vette rim fitment

no, you need spacers up front unless you completely fabricate a new custom front end for the car.

Re: question about vette rim fitment

you will need adapters not spacers.i used a 2 1/4" for the fronts and i heard none on the rear if a 4th gen rearend is used if you get the correct offset.i have my 3rd gen rearend and used a 1 1/4" adapter and +50mm offest commonly called the grandsport style.i had the zr1's with the 17x11 rears now i have z06's 18x10.5 on the rear.also depends if you are lowered.

Re: question about vette rim fitment

if you install the spacer/adapters properly, and torque the lugs nuts for the spacers/adapters properly, then re-torque them after a few miles and every now and then, you will be fine. The issues arise when the inner lugs are not installed properly and loosen.

Re: question about vette rim fitment

I drove my firebird down a cliff and the spacers/adapters held up just fine. I trust them when properly torqued.
