Repairing broken shocks?

Car: 1987 IROC-Z Camaro
Engine: 305 LB9
Transmission: 700r4
Repairing broken shocks?
Is it a possibility? I've got an 87 IROC that sat for 10 years and the shocks are leaking fluid. Is it a possibility to rebuild my shocks, or will I have to buy new stuff?

Stock-replacement shocks are so cheap I can't imagine it being worthwhile to rebuild them.

If the shocks are the OEM Bilstiens, you can have them rebuilt back to OEM specs by Bilstien. I believe the service is around $65 per shock. If the shock body is yellow in color, its a good chance they are the Bilstiens. I think you can source new Bilstiens rear shocks for not much more than what it costs to have them rebuilt. Probably not worth it unless your looking to restore the car back to factory original as possible.
