My saturday work day.

My iroc has needed new springs, shocks and stuts for some time now. Finally got all the parts needed and finally got a chance to put them on. My pics will show the progress from start to end result. Start with pics before I did anything and all the parts being put on. All acdelco except the isolators and rear springs. The rear springs a gm replacements. Also shows what my ride height was before anything got changed. As the pics go, you will see how I got the front springs out and how I put them back in. I've read where people has alot of problems putting in front springs so maybe you guys can use my pics as reference for your ride. Using the spring compressor made it very easy to get the springs back in. Just took my time and I didnt have any problems. Once I got one side done, the other side was easier. Installed new sway bar links while I was at it. Didnt know if the ones on it would come apart so I got new ones. The ones on it did come right apart and could of reused them but its nice knowing I got new ones on it. Also got new spring isolators which I recommend. The originals were still good but deformed from being in there so long. Installed new struts and the front was done. The rear springs were gravy to do. Just a matter of disconnecting the shocks and removing the sway bar links (which they come right apart too) and lowering the rearend down so you can get the springs out. Got the new springs in and installed new shocks and sway bar links. In the pics, you can see the difference in the springs. The new front springs were shorter the the originals which I didnt expect that since I didnt have any movment up and down in the front. I guess the new ones are a little stiffer than the originals. The rear springs you can see a difference in height. The rear of the car sagged so I expected to see the new ones taller than the originals. Once back on the ground, I tightened down the lower control arm bolts and it was done. My car rides alot better now. Since driving it a little, the front has settled down and the car looks like factory ride height. I also has 1 bad shock that wouldnt extend back out and both front struts were bad. If anyone wants info on the parts I used, let me know. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.
