What size is the bolt that hold the steering col to the lower shaft?
What size is the bolt that connects the rag joint to the steering box?

Can I just use grade 8 bolts that fit? or do they need to be properly threaded?

yeah, but they aren't super duper rare or anything- pick an 80's GM product with the engine out for easy access and take the bolts you need... cars, trucks- whatever.. should all be the same.
