I need a set of stock front hubs
Sorry to post this question out here, but I"m in need of a set of stock front hubs.
Seems like the guys parting cars out need to have the hubs on there so the junkyard will take the leftover shell.
Is there another alternative out there that will swap in place (same part from another vehicle perhaps).
In my area, the 3rd gens are pretty much gone from the yards. I haven't seen one in quite a while.
If anyone has a set they can let go, PM me the price PLEASE!

Not sure if I understand but thirdgens use inner and outer bearings packed inside the front brake rotor which is mounted on the spindle using a washer and nut. Each time you put on front rotors you're basically putting new hubs on.

Just about every discount parts store has them. They are pretty cheap and the fact that they are also your break rotors I would just change the rotors.
I just checked. Rockauto.com has them starting at $11.68 for economy brand.

My sincere apologies. I haven't ever had the stock setup. And I'm not talking about spindles either.
I have a '91 racecar that has long ago been converted to custom aluminum hubs and 14" disc brakes for racing (not by me).
I thought the "stock" setup would have been iron hubs with rotors that slide over the studs before you put the wheel on. My bad.
Sorry for the confusion, thanks for the info.
So the next question then would be - how are guys making the transition over to 5th gen. big brake rotors? My understanding was that the hole in the middle of the rotor had to be enlarged, but otherwise they fit onto the car - which I assumed meant it did have separate hubs.
Sounds like I need to do some more research.
Reason for all this: the aluminum hubs are giving me fits. Road course racing is of course extremely hard on brakes. The high temps are I believe causing the hubs to expand so much that the press fit to the bearing races goes away, and the race begins to spin in the hub. Doesn't take long until the bearing race "machines" away at the hub and the bearing adjustment setting becomes way too loose.
So I was trying to get back to iron hubs (roughly same material as a steel bearing race, which would have same coefficient of expansion).

Some are turning down the rotor and turning it into a hub.
Others are buying hubs and spindles from places like bigbreakupgrade.com

here is a thread i started a few months ago documenting what i had to do to put '98-'02 Camaro brakes on my car. doing any other brake setup that uses a slip on rotor- C4/C5/C6 Vette, etc.- is similar...

Yep. Normal process when people started doing that was to chain drill a rotor on a drill press or by hand, then chisel it till it fell off, and finally use a lathe to turn the rotor down making it smooth and balanced again. Then you have a set of hubs made from a brake rotor.
