Just finished installing my Eibach Pro-Kit. i ditched the stock insulators on the front springs and used some thinner rubber and its sitting real nice at the front.
For the back though i kept the stock insulators as they were pretty big and cone shaped so i wasnt sure if they were integral in seating the spring at the back or not ??? anyway i think its still sitting too high at the back, and gives the car a rake look which i dont like. it has lowered a bit from what it used to be but not much.
so the question is, can i ditch the stock rubber isolator on the rears and use my thinner rubber to bring it down a little bit more ?
You can remove the rear rubbers. Usually people with slide a piece of heater hose over the end of the spring to help with metal on metal noise but you may need something a little thicker
I have the pro-kit and did not like the stance with the factory rear isolators. Ditched them and did the heater hose mod and the stance is much better & it seemed to feel better in the rear handling wise to me.
Awesome, thats all i needed to know guys thanks. i will do exactly what ive done with the fronts, i used double sided 3m tape to stick this rubber ontop of the coil.
I drove the car last night and it doesnt rattle around like it did with the WS6 springs ! so im quite happy. and even though it looks a lot lower in the front i had no issues with speed bumps.
I will pull the rears back out on Sunday hopefully and get rid of the stock isolators.
drive it and let it settle, not for a day but for a couple of weeks. It WILL drop down.

Don't jump to hasty conclusions. It'll change, give it about a month and see where it ends up. It'll change ALOT in the first week, some more but not as much the 2nd, and so on; after 3 or 4 weeks, if you drive it regularly (like over 200 miles a week) it'll reach, or at least approach, its long-term equilibrium.

Of course not. Your old stock crap, no matter what the original RPO code was, is wore out and used up and turned to trash, same as any othe rold wore-out used up trashed stock crap. Always makes me laugh to see people come on here and blab about "WS6", about like the truck people do about "Z71". (except worse) It's still just a bunch of stock crap that's ANTIQUE now. Renewing it ALWAYS makes the car work better.
i think the new rear shocks are doing their thing too. i hammered it away from a junction today and got the back end out and it stayed nice and flat into a controlled slide. it used to kick out and leeeean over and not feel controlled. im loving this so far.
anyway i popped the rears back out and replaced the stock isolator with the thinner rubber and the car is sitting real nice. i will keep an eye on the ride height and if it drops too much i can pop the springs out again and add another layer of rubber etc
