Lowering my IROCZ

I finally have the opportunity to lower my Camaro. I'm on the cusp of getting the Eibach Pro-kit which lowers the car around 1-1.5." My question is, has anybody lowered their cars this much and if so were their any problems with pinion angles or any kind of geometry. I realize an inch isn't that much but I know how sensitive these cars are. Anybody with some input please reply. Thanks again.

Don't want to rain too heavy on your parade; BUTT.... ya gotta realize that that's 1 - 1½" below its ORIGINAL height, not whatever its saggy wore-out limp-{you-know-what} springs have it sitting at NOW.

"Lowering" doesn't work like, you open the box that says "lowering" and pour it all over your car, and it just instantly jumps {fill in the blank} closer to the ground. As if, you could do that 3 times, and it would just keep getting lower.

Gotta remember, "lower" is a COMPARATIVE word. "Lower", than WHAT? well, in the case of parts f that sort, it usually means, "lower" than ORIGINAL. See this post for what your car will be "lower" than by an inch or whatever. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/hist...od-1986-a.html

Don't be A BIT surprised if you put those springs in your car and it actually sits HIGHER than it does now.

While I agree with that completely, I think "most" cars with original springs aren't quite that low. I put the ProKit on my original, 100k mile car, and it lowered it noticeably. I measured, but don't remember off the top of my head how much. Over the next month or so, it dropped another .25"/.3" inches. Had those springs for almost 10 years, they look good, ride good, aren't TOO low etc. etc., very happy with them.

...You DO Need a front end alignment. I also purchased an adjustable torque arm, but honestly I don't think it was necessary. I'll admit I didn't measure the angle with the stock arm, so I can't say for certain, but I would think you'd be ok. ......like always, do your homework and measure to be sure.
...also be sure to get good shocks and struts. They don't have to be top of the line, but don't get cheapo sears replacements. I've been incredibly happy with the Tokico HP's. Not sure if they still sell 'em though.

I realize that and I don't think its sagging that much right now......but it is starting to. I just want a little bit of drop. I just want to get rid of the annoying wheel gap! I'm going to try and get ahold of the Vogtland sales person and see if they can find the spring rates. They kinda look like progressive rate springs?

When I lowered my car with suspension techniques springs, the car did lower about an inch. Lowering the car also pushed my rearend slightly towards the passenger side.
I had an adjustable panhard bar to re-center it though.
Something to keep in mind.

Would you say that your ride is too firm Abubaca? Is it alot firmer than stock or just a little bit. I've always felt that my stock springs were too soft, however, I don't want to chip my teeth either.

Man, that's tough to answer. It's so subjective. Most of our roads down here in North Carolina are pretty good, and I would say that while firm, it definitely doesn't jar or knock you around. I also don't daily drive it, so when it does come out, I'm not looking for a casual run the grocery store. I drive it! I take on ramps and off ramps fast! I've got SFCs LCAs, LCA relo brackets, torque arm, panhard, endlinks front and back, bushings all around and then of course, shocks struts and springs. I researched it a bit, and most people with the pro-kit are pretty happy. I gave it a shot, and I never looked back. Very happy with it.

Great question! I'd love to hear an answer to your question. Anyone know? Also, anyone happen to know the specifications of the Eibach Pro Kit springs?
