BMR a-arms with spring pocket

Had a 2 inch drop intrax springs with new Koni sport yellows and the Bmr A-arms caused front to be much lower than rear and much lower than before. Would stock springs solve issue or would the eibach sport or pro kit be a better solution to balance out the front? Appreciate any help.

My car's ride height did not change whatsoever when I installed my BMR A arms and K member. I had 1.5" drop springs on the stock suspension and used the same springs when I did the BMR front parts and it was identical. You sure something isn't out of whack? I know the BMR spring pockets in the A arms are a very tight fit on most springs. Mine used to hang the spring up on the pocket after I'd jack the front end up, even when the car was back on the ground. If I gave the top of the fender a good push downward, you'd hear a bang and the spring would seat back into the pocket. Also, make sure when you installed the springs that you lined the bottom of the spring up correctly with the bracket inside the spring pocket on the BMR A-arm.

Re: BMR a-arms with spring pocket

I had the same problem. Front of the car looked like a door slammer and back was at normal ride height. The problem is the A-Arms. I didn't have much faith that would be sorted out so I got a set of Ground Control weight jacks to raise height in the front.

I have the arms and k member in a project and its way too high. Your situation is easier to solve. Buy thick spring insulators like used on mustangs. They can be had in several thicknesses

This will solve every problem you have. It will give you a proper spring rate and give you the ability to still use the BMR arms and put the car at the exact ride height you desire.

Re: BMR a-arms with spring pocket

I know if you go with Ground Control then they can set you up with spring rates in 25 lb/in increments from,

Front 700 - 1200+
Rear 150 - 200+

All springs will be constant rate (no variable rate springs).

I don't see that UMI sells rear weight jacks yet.

Re: BMR a-arms with spring pocket

If i get weight jacks , what weight do i know to get for daily driver mostly just 2 passengers with combined 300-400lbs of weight? Will the UMi weight jack fit a BMR a arm ? Or will the Ground control guarantee a fit so i dont run into issues?

Re: BMR a-arms with spring pocket

#850 with your iron V8 and two passengers will be fine. Are those 18" aftermarket wheels on your car? - more weight. I have #850 with an LS2 and lightweight wheel assemblies. Don't sweat it.
Call UMI to see if they work with BMR - probably do. Those guys are staying at the front doing R&D and bringing new stuff to market. Call - Ask - Learn, they won't steer you wrong. Not a bad price, if only they had a swivel.

I don't see a need for rears, as new tech coil-overs are outperforming old school shocks. At least, for what I see as available for our cars.

ill definitely call them on monday when they open. Yes they are Milanni 305 i think thats what they are called. Plan on getting boze wheels if i go down the LS swap route. And i will look into the coilovers. They sound interesting for rear.

Re: BMR a-arms with spring pocket

Hey Guys,

We don't see any issues with BMR lower a-arms and the weight jack kit. We haven't tried it either but as long as UMI excepts a normal diameter spring it should all be good. I do know the BMR k-member uses to larger of tubing up top to fit.

For the rears, it is on our list to finish the rear weight jack kit so stay tuned.

Thanks!
Ryan
