idleing issues
hey there i am new to this web site so bear with me!!
i own a 1988 camaro with a E code 305 T.B.I. and a 5 speed i have performed some mods tomy engine and i have a terrable ideling problem i have done the following
comp cams 12-206-2 cam
ported,relieved,shaved and ballanced heads
comp springs
ported intake
doubble roller timing chain
headmen hedders (shortys)
ultimate T.B.I. mods
removed cat and air pump
open element air cleaner
taylor 8mm spiral core wires
ever since i rebuilt the engine last year it has not idled right it likes to drop down to about 300 rpm and them bounce back up to 600rpm it dosent matter if it is hot or cold it still does this and it is geting annoying i am also throwing some codes ie map high map low, rich lean.and esc but my mechanic thinks there bogus as it runs fine other then the idle, i am running the stock chip and am awating a reply from hypertech.
any ideas as to what to try /do to resolve this any one else ever have this problem??
thanx Chris.

First off, welcome aboard.
Secondly I would look into getting a custom chip made for your car. MAP engines don't like huge changes in their parameters. I'm still running mine on the stock chip and the idle bounces around like yours does.

I have sent an e-mail to hypertech and i am awating there response hopefully they can hook me up with something cause i hate this ideling bounce as it drops so low that it could cause bottom end problems. thanx again

i donno how well the hypertec will ffit your peramiters... Id look into either burning the chip yourself ( there are board and tech articles dedicated to this here) or taking it to a knowlegable shop and having a chip burned for it.
