How much are you looking to spend on the heads?

Get some aluminum 2.02/1.60 heads at least.

Yeah how much are you looking to spend? There's a huge market for heads out there, all different prices and quality.

As for the cam, just pay attention to the LSA and duration. They should be proportional to each other; the more duration you get on the cam, the more LSA it should have to be computer friendly.

a set of vortecs with a LT4 hot cam and 1.6 roller rockers really looks liek a hot ticket for tbi/carb right now. scoggins-dickey got 420hp out of that combo with 9:1 compression. if you get teh heads milled a touch and have a little port work done on the exhuast side of the heads you will really pick up from it.

Vortec heads

The fact that Vortec heads have a diferent intake bolt pattern only mean that you should choose a vortek compatible intake but the block can be any SB chevy right?

Also the fast burn heads are aluminium vortecs (I mean they have that bolt pattern) how much difference in power one can obtain betwen the iron vortecs and the fast burn, it is worth?

The Vortec heads will not have any problems bolting up with your block.

Fast Burns use both patterns. It's about a 30hp difference. The Fast Burns are very cleaned up because the Vortecs are a factory sloppy casting. Fast Burns have been payed attention to.
