Head/Cam combo for 305, and Holley 305 TBI?
I can assume this question has been answered many times before, but I am looking for the Holley 670 CFM 305 TBI and I am wondering whether or not it has a fuel pressure regulator built in, rather than jerry-rigging my stock unit :-/ Is it available from summit or jegs?
Also, what is a good proven head and cam combo for these cars? I am in the process of researching PROM editing, so any combo will work, but low cost is an issue (isnt it always?)
Thanks a lot in advance guys!

I'm using L98 heads and a Crane Compucam (PowerMax)2030 (Hydraulic Roller) with my TBI 350. The Compucam 2030 would work well in a 305 as well, it's actually a little small for a 350, but the car runs good.
A lot of people are using the stock LT1 cam, and I hear it's very inexpensive.
As far as cams go, you'll want to keep the Lobe ctrs in the 114-116 degree range to keep the computer happy. Lift numbers are more flexible.
2030 specs: .429/.452" @ 0.050", 204/214 deg duration @.050"
116 deg Lobe Separation

350 heads combustion chamber on a 305 would drop compression way down, so that would not be a good match.
The Holley 670 CFM TB is very popular.
I went with the Turbo City Ported throttle body instead.
Mainly because , at the time, Holley injectors had a reputation for not liking increased fuel pressure (high failure rate).
I understand that they have changed to a different type of injector now and that is no longer a problem.
I'm also using the Turbo City Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator.
The rest of my setup includes:
Moroso 14"x3" (Flatbottom) open element Air Cleaner W/K&N
Element.
Edelbrock Performer TBI Intake
GM 350 Truck Injectors
SLP Stainless Headers and Y-Pipe
3" Catco Cat
Flowmaster American Thunder 3" Dual Outlet Cat-Back Exhaust
Accel Billetech Distributor
MSD Coil, Wires and Adjustable Timing Control Module
WC T5 trans
Hurst Comp Plus Shifter
Hayes Billet Flywheel (30lb)
Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch
Richmond 3.73 Gears in a Z28 Posi/ disc brake rear
.........Oh, and a custom chip from Ed Wright at Fastchip.com.

My combination works real well, without a custom chip, ultimate TBI mods or AFPR. I prefer Comp Cam's as they have very good machining tolerances. My cam's LSA is 112*
