engine rebuild kits

I am going thru this myself for my 305 and the best and cheapest place is enginekits.com or also known as powerhouse. I have done a lot of research on this and found them to be the cheapest for the quality of parts I am getting

King Bearings rods and mains cam bearings installed at machine shop
Badger pistons 30 over
dynagear oil pump 30 over
hastings premium moly rings 30 over
double roller timing set
freeze plugs
$184.00
In my case I found it cheaper to order mys tuff individual since I didnt need a Gasket kit and I found my Ram Jet roller cam for 100.00 take-off but never used. Need help private message me

If your 305 needs machining dont waste the money having it rebuilt. 350 all the way boys...i used to talk about building a 305 until the 305 died (well actually it didnt...anyways long story) when it died i said **** rebuilding this POS its time for more cubes!

305 rebuild

even with machining and a cam I still only cost little under 400 dollars around here thats what a core 350 cost if you can find one in this podunk town. besides I had a 305 before and kept up with the 350 and it never broke on me 305s last forever.

It was $200 to have it hot tanked, honed, crank checked and polished, new cam bearings, new freeze plugs. Then rings were like $20 and bearings were like $30. Autozone special Ahhh good idea chuck to skimp on the rings/bearings when I want to spray it lol.

Come to the dark side...wait, isn't that 4th gens? Hmm....
Come to the other dark side!!! 350's are Goooooood. You want one, you need one, and you can afford one .
Really though, a 305 is not a great motor. The are nice but low on power. Compare a 305 to a 350 and you get 45 less cubes of air and fuel to make power, not as many heads to choose from, pay the same and go slower. There isn't a performance guy around that would turn down more cubes especially if it was such an easy swap and the same cost as rebuilding his smaller motor.
