305 Dead, Want 350 Under My Throttle Body
HEY Y'ALL MY 305 IS DYING, BLOWN HEAD GASKET (212,000 MILES). I FIGURE I MIGHT AS WELL GO WITH A 350 OR 355. CAN I JUST DROP THAT IN UNDER MY 305 TBI? WHAT ALL WILL I NEED TO CHANGE? WHAT DONOR CARS SHOULD I LOOK FOR FOR THE ENGINE/ECM? I HAVE THE T-5 TRANNY THERE AS WELL.

There is a sticky at the top of the boards that should tell you what all you need to swap in a 350, but I'll break it down for you.
If you're going to stay TBI, all you need is a 350 knock sensor, 350 ESC module, 350 injectors, and a 350 PROM/chip (from late '80s to early '90s Caprices or trucks, although the PROM has to come from a Caprice). Everything else will bolt right in, you can use all your stock motor mounts, transmission, computer, etc. All of this is assuming that you have a 350 long block (your best bet would be to get a donor engine from a Caprice or truck mentioned earlier). The only problem is that your engine will run with a 350 PROM, but it might not run at its best. It's best to learn to burn your own PROMs/chips. You can figure out how to do this from the stickies on the DIY PROM board. Hope this helps.
Also, just so the Moderators won't get on you, you might want to take the caps lock off.
