Need help on 92 astro van code 43

I know it is not a camaro or chicken but I can't figure out the problem. Just driving around the van feels slugish then the ses lite comes on I check it and it says code 43 which is esc. Replaced the knock sensor the and esc unit in the distributor but still no luck. I also timed it. It is also a 4.3 tbi awd. Any help would be great.

So long as it remains centered on tbi, Ill allow it to fly for now.

The two possible causes are either runaway knock or failing the code 43 test. Searching for 'code 43' will bring up tons of threads on teh topic.

I would start by pulling the connector off the knock sensor and disconnecting the ESC. Then ohm out the wiring between the KS and the ESC. If that checks out check for continuity between the ESC and the ECM. Finally check to see that the ESC is getting voltage and ground.

Finally did you set the timing with the timing connector disconnected. If you did not the timing will never kick up enough to make the engine knock and pass the check.

I tried searching code 43 but all I got was threads that contained the word code in it. The esc module was replaced about 8 months ago the same with the knock sensor and o2 sensor. I doubt it is bad but I will check it. I took the dog house off today and everything looks real good under there. The air filter was pretty bad though so I relplaced it and sprayed some carb cleaner down the tbi. So maybe that will help. It use to do it alot last year but I timed it disconnecting the wire and I thought it cured it. But Tuesday it flashed again. Thanks for the info.
