Timing chain cover?

I finally installed the LT1 cam, the installation was pretty upfront. It was going fine untill we got around to puting the timing chain cover, it does not want to fit back on. How do you reinstall this damn thing back on?

uuuuum you ground off the pin on the front of the cam right? that drives the LT1 water pump which you don't need.

Yup, I can't seem to get the bottom to go in.
It has this grove where it meets the oil pan and that part does not want to go in.

Boy do I have a good one for you. I just did that and this is what I did. I used tin snips and cut the inside lip on the corner at an angle and the cover slid on (the part that goes by the oil pan and block) I have no leaks........I will use a two piece timing cover on my next motor.

Need any help let me know.
