What if i have zero knock count?

I drove around for about 20 minutes with one of those little autoxray's, And never got a knock out of it. Could this possibly indicate a faultyknock sensor? Or is it sometimes normal to have zero knock? Thanks for the help!

what is your timing set at? the lower it is set the more chance of not having a knock.

Re: What if i have zero knock count?

You could advance the timing enough to force it to knock, and see if you record counts then. That's how the stock ecm's test themselves.

Re: What if i have zero knock count?

its set at 4* base. You soppsoe that if i were to tap on the block with like a wrench or hammer that it would register as a knock?

Re: What if i have zero knock count?

Maybe i'll run up and try that real quick then. Of coarse that wouldent casue a rough idle/ idle surge situation anyway but i suppose it would be good to find out anyway.
