I tried to find an answer to this on other posts but couldn't find one. I have a 91 RS with the single fan and was wondering since I changed my thermostat to a 180* do I also have to change or get the prom recalibrated so the fan will come on sooner?

Nope, no new prom needed, as the computer doesnt control the fan on a single fan setup. The fan-temp switch in the passenger head is what controls the fan. You can get an aftermarket one that turns the fan on at 185 degrees, or you can get a stock GM one from an 86-87 Buick Grand National that turns on the fans on at 204 degrees.

I was going to get the Jet fan switch from Jegs but, it said "for use only with cars with two fans". I know the computer turns on the fan when I switch my AC on. If I get the Jet Fan switch, won't the new switch bypass the computer? I use my AC all the time here in Ca.

I was just reading my previous post and I didn't explain myself clearly. What I was trying to say is, when I turn on my AC the fan turns on. If I get a Fan switch will the fan still turn on exactly when I turn on the AC or will it wait until the temperature of the Fan switch is met?

ya, your fans will probably still turn on when you turn on your ac. a jet switch is just going to control what temp the fan turns on the rest of the time. if you want the fan to wait to turn on, you will have to wire a manual switch. which i think is probably best, as long as you wire it relayed from ignition hot, and not constant hot. so you dont have to worry about leaving it on when you shut off the car.

The A/C also controls the operation of the single fan via a pressure switch, as you've found out. Whenever the A/C is on, or if the temp switch reaches it turn-on temp, the fan will come on.
