What mod to do next? Under $300...
Current mods are in signiture.. Which would be the best to do next, as it will be the last one I do until after christmas when I get some new Heads and a bigger TBI unit..
1: Underdrive pulleys
2: Bigger injectors/TBI spacer
3: Jet stage 2 chip or Hypertech chip
4: Edelbrock Torque arm
5: Other?
Anyone have any suggestions? I would go to a higher stall but I don't have time to pull the tranny.. Nor do I want to pull the tranny..

Pullies are a waste and a bad idea on cars like ours that already have so many electrical power needs. What is your car running now with all those mods? roller rockers are $191 but if you are getting heads soon you can get cheaper rockers that need guide plates. I'd say do the ultimate TBI mods and check your fuel pressure. If its stock you're probably running lean. You could try gettin a new Y portion of the Y pipe for your headers since the edelbrock ones are such a bad design. Flowmaster makes them for $37.

Fuel pressure is fine, it's not lean... as for the 1.6 rockers, I dont want to increase the lift anymore than it already is for 2 reasons:
1: I can't replace the stock springs yet.
2: Edelbrock Aluminum heads won't work with lift of over .450 on a 305. I want to keep my options open for heads. I haven't decided if I want to go with Vortecs or Edelbrocks, I like Edelbrocks because they are aluminum and they don't need the external EGR crap or a new intake. For the money on a new intake, milling and an external EGR, I might as well just get aluminum heads. Vortec's springs are only good up to .450 also, so thats another strike against 1.6 Rockers..
What if I just got some nice roller 1.5's? I should gain some HP even if the lift isn't increased just because the rockers are made so much better..
I was thinking a Chip may be worth it, just to hold me over until the heads are done. Then I'm going to get a custom chip from Ed Wright..
A friend that has an 89 mustang said his pulleys made a huge difference but thats on a completely different car..
What about some 350 injectors and a spacer? Would that shave maybe .2 off my ET?
BTW: Haven't ever ran the car at the track, only street racing but I am going to the track within 2 or 3 weeks..

its impossible to make any kind of judgements without 1/4 and et. if your ET is low but mph is good we could say work on your traction, or if your traction is good but the et is low we could say get a new intake or something. see?

Sounds like it might be a good time for a brake upgrade (shoes, pads, calipers, etc.) This would keep you well under 300

Buy yourself what it takes to burn chips and don't look back! It's not that hard and there's plenty of info and help here. It pays for itself on the 1st so called custom chip that you purchase. You can only guess what the car needs over the phone. Nothing like making a change, testing it and then making another until you have what you want.

my suggstion would be to work on the exhaust. a good y-pipe or headers and y-pipe with a high flow 3in cat woudl help the car breath a lot.
other than that all your biggest gains are gonna come from traction now. invest there once your exhaust is set.

.[/b][/QUOTE] You forgot to add the price of the scan tool to tune the chip for the engine.
Sorry, I sure did forget. Auto-xray for $170 if I remember correctly.
