NEW CAMARO OWNER WITH TBI ISSUE

I picked up a 91 RS Vert with a 305 in it. I has been sitting for 13 years, and it does not run. I have replaced the fuel filter, and the injectors. Fuel pump turns on and off without a problem and the injectors will spray when I turn the vehicle on and when I try to turn it over the injectors just dump fuel on big drops. If I take the fuel line off the back of the throttle body spray it in like a garden hose it runs great. Pressure comes up and does not skip. As soon as I re-attach the fuel line it wont start or run. Also runs on cleaner and pouring gas into throttle body without an issue. Is it the fuel pump or something else. I have a pump coming in from APE, not sure if it electrical or what. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

I also replaced the spring and diaphram in the fuel regulator...still at a loss

The fuel injectors may be gummed up. I believe they can be cleaned or exchanged for a rebuilt pair. There is a rebuild kit that is needed after they are cleaned. I dont believe you can clean yourself.

Have you checked the gas tank. If it's been sitting thirteen years I'm sure there's a lot of rust and gum in the tank which will clog any filter. That would be the next thing I would check.

Re: NEW CAMARO OWNER WITH TBI ISSUE

Change your fuel filter and see if that would fix your problem. When the car is off, do the injectors drip fuel?

Re: NEW CAMARO OWNER WITH TBI ISSUE

I have replaced the fuel filter and put in brand new injectors. It does not drip and fuel anywhere. I have a pump on order and hopefully that will fix my problem. Thanks

I will be dropping the tank next. I am sure there is nothing left of the fuel line in the tank and I can't imagine what is sitting in the bottom of it. But again when I have the line off and put it in the throttle body the fuel pump keeps up with out a problem. The problem starts when I re-connedct to the TBI and the fuel has to go through that entire assembly.
